Hi to all the residents of aravali hostel.
I have formed this google group so that problems faced by the residents can be resolved more conveniently .They can be addressed more efficiently if we have a common platform where everybody can raise his problem/issues/suggestions. I just require a little cooperation from all you people and welcome all your querries so that we can improve the living conditions in the hostel.

Please suggest all your friends to join all your friends in hostel to join the group(anyone with the email-id of the group can join).

Dear Lalit

congrats on forming the group . if it can also culminate to some action, then its purpose will be served.

to start with here is the one problem which is  faced by every person who use washing machine.

Driers of most of washing machines are not working 

 i made a complaint in complaint book, brought to the notice of caretaker with no result. and now i am raising this issue on this platform

here is some input which i think can help

all the washing machines are brought new so these are under one year warranty.

number of helpline/ concerned person is to be displayed near each washing machine. so that any person can call that fellow

operation of washing machine ( for first timers)  is to be pasted near washing area.

i hope you can work in this direction and can justify your post of maintenance secy

Sir,
Helpline number can't be put on the washing machines as the complaint format is more complicated and they ask for details which are only available with the caretaker and it would be more effective(as i have already learned from my experience of once making a complaint for the same) if he complaints about it.
Recently after getting complaints from some people i did complain about  the washing machine problem and someone was here for the repairs on friday and i believe some washing machines have been repaired.I have marked each of the bathrooms(u must have seen some papers been pasted on the bathroom doors). And washing machine complaints are addressed through the complaint book. I am forming an excel sheet for various problems. Please fill in the respective problems on the excel sheet.

Apart from this i would also request that please don't manhandle the things.

i have washing machine in my own house and have made many complaints.No detail is confidential or as such details can be displayed like make of washing machine, address, bill no etc . if we have to depend on one person then it may not be possible to get the machine repaired. i have used machine on ground floor today  and it was not working.  may be you can put things under the carpet and believe everything is working

hi lalit its good that u have pasted some sheets in each bathroom and corridor which are to be signed by the students...... but the problem is even they clean the bathrooms at 11 AM by 12 AM they will be dirty .. this is because they are not cleaning properly and the student who is signing the sheet should at least have a look how they have done cleaning and then sign which many are not doing... so if possible keep some people who are interested as volunteers for every wing.

for B middle wing i will be one of the volunteer...

I don't know why the washing machine wala at your place does not ask for details; I personally tried to complain last week but it resulted in me going to the caretaker's office. Creating a menace by everybody doing the same complaint/ different people at different times.
I think it would be easier if everyone would write his complain on the spreadsheet i have shared, so that they can be repaired all at once(caretaker has been given the job for purposes,there is no point in trying to displace them).

in order to reply fast probably you have not read my mail properly. i never said that details are not asked, i just wrote these details can also be pasted as these are just few . regarding displacing caretaker, no body is trying to displace any body. if everybody is doing his work diligently what is need of these committees . students committees are there to share some responsibilities and to get the work done from other staff. meanwhile you have also not seen the spreadsheet i have also entered a complaint in that. good luck

I accept your point but in that case everybody would complain individually for the same washing machine which i think is not desired so i think we should first try the spreadsheet way.

Dude, it actually does not come under my jurisdiction. These bathrooms have been renovated centrally and i have inquired about it. It might take some more time but its nothing i can do about it.

that is right..... but one thing we can do is we can provide smaller version or small sized tubes in washrooms... maybe it can serve the purpose. ppl wont take it bcoz it wnt fit to the normally big holders in the rooms !!

Even i have a similar suggestion . I am thinking of replacing tubelights by CFL's .But it needs to be approved by the dean. I have given the proposal.
Lets hope for the best.

There is also a good news that we might get water coolers on  C floor.
