Hello. For some weird event, when copying files to an external hard drive (NTFS), it got corrupted and suddenly trying to navigate folders/copying files would hang the explorer (and even managed to launch the bluescreen of death). Nothing worked, trying to repair file system no luck, so I just gave up and went and try to recover the files using recuva. Fortunately, it found them all, but for some files the file path length was simply too long, so recuva couldn't recover them. I'm trying to recover files maintaining folders structures, otherwisr trying to place each one of them at their correct locations would be impossible. Is there any alternative (free) that can handle longer path files than recuva? If not, what other paid softwares should I look at? Thank you guys.
Thanks everyone for the replies. Unfortunately I still haven't been able to uninstall, I've already reinstalled recuva and the error still remains. I tried to do the procedure indicated in the microsoft community pointed out, but I didn't have success either.
I just tried it. The results window remains. I don't know if there is now any controlled ability to save results to use later after shutting down recuva. That would be good to know. For now. I will not shut down the program.
I was using recuva to find pictures and videos on a windows xp hard drive, but I keep getting an internal error message. Does anyone know of an alternative program for recovering broken and damaged files?
Files are shown in excellent condition. I recovered a few of them which were pdfs, powerpoints & photos. But they wont open for some reason.
Preview of the same photos existed in recuva. What the hell is going on?!?
(I didn't hibernate btw)
