Hello, I recently uninstalled the Adobe flash player because it was end of life after Dec 2020. Now my question is that do I need to replace it with some other flash players or it does not matter that much?
the same problem for me intermittently for the last couple of months. It also messes with firefox and edge flashplayer. sometimes the whole page freezes when i try to play clips. sometimes only sound plays and clip pic freezes. sometimes clip plays with no sound and / or prompts to install flashplayer etc...
Google removed the chrome://flags/#prefer-html-over-flash setting in the latest version. The work-arounds available are no longer available. The only information we have now, from Google is their support document Use or fix Flash audio & video - Computer - Google Chrome Help .
I do not see 'prefer html over flash' in the chrome://plugins/flags menu listings.... please advise. I also have the same problem.... can't get adobe flash player to run in google chrome in facebook. I have a macbook pro and am running the latest versions of flash player and google chrome.... have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling chrome. Still getting 'plug-in blocked' . please advise.
Chrome has Flash support built into the browser. This is not like how Firefox uses flashplugin-installer/flashplugin-nonfree or adobe-flashplugin (which are separate from the browser, but utilized by the browser). The Ubunbu packaged plugin can use the HAL, whereas the built in plugin to chrome cannot.
I am an Ubuntu newbie and tried various work arounds to do with flash not being installed, or not having an up to date version of chrome or chromium etc to get amazon music to work in Chrome and Chromium. In the end went to firefox and went to add ons> plug ins> ... set shockwave flash to always activate and now its running fine.
Go to your Google chrome Add-on and search for adobe flash for Google chrome and install the right one for your browser. I think it has something to do with your browser. Have you tried it in other browser like Firefox?
Designed to be easy to use and install, users or website owners may install the web versionof Ruffle and existing flash content will "just work", with no extra configuration required.Ruffle will detect all existing Flash content on a website and automatically "polyfill"it into a Ruffle player, allowing seamless and transparent upgrading of websites that stillrely on Flash content.
If I click run this time it allows me to run any flash content on current page but same notification on new page. If however, I click update plugin it takes me to this Chrome support page. I follow instructions and go to chrome://plugins which give me a url under Adobe Flash Player which is following Download Critical Security Update and as you see this again links me to the Google support page with instructions on how to update and that I've already been on.
FWIW, The "update flash" messages are often misleading, as you will get them when flash is blocked by the browser. Also Chrome and Edge use internal flash players, they don't use the adobe plug-in at all. From your post, it sounds like you do know how to unblock flash for the browsers you use. But if that's not the case, post back with the specific browser.
You may also play Flash content on a page-to-page basis. Google Chrome will ask you to enable or block the Adobe flash player whenever you open a page with Flash content. Just click the puzzle icon to the right of the address bar and click Allow to enable it.
I love firefox esp videos. Much better than internet explorer and chrome. Very stable, smooth. Was playing fine then crashed. I thought it could be a few programs i uninstalled like shockwave which was playing hell with my computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled mozilla firefox and adobe flash player but still couldn't play videos in you tube, or revolution golf, etc. I took a screenshot but i don't see an attachment here to send it you. It says i need to update adobe flash player, or the adobe flash player is required for video playbacks, which i already did several times but it still doesn't show up in my firefox plugins. Please advise.
I can play videos in internet explorer and chrome but they are not the same quality as firefox is why i've used firefox exclusively esp for videos as i play a lot of them. Why suddenly they've stopped playing in firefox is the question. The answer (i assume) lies in why firefox is not recognizing adobe flash player 11 or shockwave even though they're both in my computer. And i don't know how to update my graphics driver
Gnash flash player is a solid replacement for Adobe Flash Player that comes as a standalone desktop player and a web browser plug-in. It supports all Flash-based multimedia formats and serves as a great alternative to Adobe Flash Player for Mac. As a plugin, Gnash is available in many popular browsers. Its version for Windows, however, has not received updates since 2012, so it provides no support for SWF version 10. You can download Gnash here.
I would like chromium to behave as if flash plugin was not installed at all. One idea was to chown and chmod the binary /usr/lib/pepperflashplugin-nonfree/libpepflashplayer.so so that only root and the one user can read it (640). But that seems like a dirty hack. Is there a better way?
I have the same issue with adobe flash on Safari. I've used Fit Bit for 5 years and only experienced this issue recently. Not sure what to do to be able to see my sleeo graph. Can anyone help with this?
