The 36th Annual URARA Symposium
When: September 30 to October 3, 2016 Where: R.J. Law Community Center 75 W Main St Delta, Utah A four day gathering with two days of field trips bracketing two days of speakers and scholarly presentations. The business meeting will be held on Saturday afternoon. There will also be Conservation and Preservation Presentations, several workshops, a catered lunch and a a banquet on Sunday, an auction, watermelons, and plenty of fun and frivolity!
Keynote Speakers: Carolyn Boyd on Saturday Morning
Her presentation will be: The White Shaman Mural: An Enduring Creation Narrative in the Rock Art of the Lower Pecos

There is a plethora of rock art in the Delta area. The rock art is generally on boulders rather than large rock faces. Access is much simpler than in many other places with many "drive up" sites and little hiking.
Delta is a city in Millard County on the eastern edge of the Great Basin. Further

The Bolivian Rock Art Research Society (SIARB) has just published Vol. 8 of its series Contribuciones, a voluminous book (358 pages, more than 600 illustrations including 33 color plates) on rock art of Lake Titicaca region (Peru and Bolivia), edited by Matthias Strecker, with contributions by researchers from Bolivia (Freddy Taboada, J. M. López Bejarano), Peru (Adán Umire), USA (Elizabeth Arkush, Elizabeth Klarich, Arik
Ohnstad), Austria (Rainer Hostnig) and Germany (M. Strecker). The text is in Spanish with English summaries. The book makes ample use of
DStretch and includes some photos by Robert Mark.
