Hi all! I would love to adjust the dynamics of my strings in Ableton, but so far when I try and adjust the Envelopes (1 - Modulation or 11 - Expression) it has no affect on the sound. Any ideas as to how to implement this, or does Session Strings simply not respond to these adjustments?
I'm looking around to see what VSTi I can get for strings. Most are very pricey but this one is very affordable. What I really want to do is create arrangements of strings but not a huge orchesteral piece or anything.
At some points I guess I'd want the arrangements of strings to be solo and not supported by other instruments. I'll mostly be using it for rock/pop/folk music. I want to control each instrument solo, being able to play the violin for example, via a midi keyboard.
I downloaded NI session strings 2. It was not showing in Kontakt 5. I upgraded to Kontakt 6, still not showing. Instead, when I click on the library and try to add the software folder Session Strings 2 Library to Kontakt it tells me 'Session Strings 2' already exists within the Kontakt Libraries tab'. But it does not show.
When it comes to mocking up large-scale orchestral strings, there are plenty of sample libraries that address the subject, often brandishing buzz-words such as 'Hollywood', 'Cinematic' and 'Epic' amongst their USPs. The price tag and system requirements for such libraries can be equally epic, requiring a substantial financial outlay; not just for the software, but also for a system capable of realising their full potential. What isn't so commonly addressed is the need for a smaller string section suitable for pop productions, where a grandiose 64-piece string section is frequently inappropriate. Session Strings Pro (SSPro) aims to provide just that, at a relatively affordable cost.
SSPro sits neatly in the gap between chamber ensemble and symphony orchestra, with a clarity that makes it easy to place in a mix. It's nearly 20 times larger than its predecessor, featuring four sections, each with seating and mic-placement characteristics, more articulations, and preset configurations optimised for live and sequencing situations. This library delivers strings on a smaller 'pop' scale, but is actually suitable for many musical genres.
I hit a stumbling block when the session is saved to DynamoDB. It appears the string coming from PHP is in some sort of strange encoding that contains blank characters that aren't whitespace, which then prevents the string from being saved in DynamoDB correctly. The string also doesn't play nice when I paste it into PhpStorm.
You can also try writing your own session handler (the part that will write encoded data into file or whatever -- it's easy) -- see what kind of data comes to a handler: is it good or already "corrupted".
somesoni2's example works great if it is always in the 3rd position. But if that is not the case, you may want additional options. If the session id's are the 2nd to the last fields on the line, then you can do this:

The script I'm using this in gets called 5 times. During these times it keeps track of which run it is in (1 - 5) using session variables (which is working great). On the first run I set these session variables in a loop. After this loop I can write out the variables to the error log in insure they were written correctly.

This topic describes how to configure the Multiplayer service, which includes configuring session templates, SmartMatch hoppers, and custom invite strings. For your title to take advantage of Xbox services, you must first define the title's service configuration. Your service configuration exists in the Xbox services cloud and defines how Xbox services interacts with devices that are running your game.
By using the Xbox Multiplayer service, players can create and join sessions, exchange session messages with other players in the same session, and post the results of their play to the session. Note that posting the results cleans up the session and updates the leaderboards for all players in the session.
For example, a multiplayer session could be a game of chess between two players. Another example of a multiplayer session could be a continuing session of an action and adventure title played by a large number of players. When a game creates a new multiplayer session, it creates it based on a predefined session template. This template is essentially a JSON object that contains attributes that describe the session.
