Hi,

ARAnyM https://aranym.github.io/ is the GNU/GPL ATARI Virtual Machine
from which a minimal configuration, the *miniPack* is distributed
https://eureka.atari.org/miniPack.zip miniPack is modified with the
new macOS ARAnyM snapshot from Philipp Donzé. It supports:

`Run_win` allows launching on PC with Windows
`MacAranym` allows launching on MacARM with macOS
`MacAranym JIT` allows launching on MacIntel with macOS
`run_x86.sh` allows launching on PC with x86-Linux
`run_ppc.sh` allows launching on Mac _and_ PS3 with PPC-Linux
`run_arm.sh` allows launching on Raspberry Pi with ARM-Linux

So Macintosh-PC-PlayStation3-RaspberryPi are all supported with
Windows, macOS and GNU/Linux.

This simple ARAnyM configuration is running on any machine.

Enjoy, it's yours =)

`MacAranym` is not running properly. It was downloaded on GitHub.
GitHub is a Microsoft technology. They're not inclusive, nor
friendly with other hardware/software, noticeably with Apple...
And I'm not speaking about free software or ATARI computers, indeed!

In miniPack ARAnyM, for `MacAranym` binary, there's now a snapshot from
<https://www.xn--donz-epa.ch/atari/software/macaranym/> dated 2023/07/17
It should run like that, because GitHub snapshot is not good, sorry...
I hope that Philipp Donzé will do something to fix the issue with GitHub

Francois, the disk images downloaded from Philip’s github and his own website, have been notarised. The apps inside both of them, have not.

If I run the apps from the DMG I don’t get the error I mentioned in the thread, I get a kind of weaker “this came from xyz.com. Are you sure?” warning.

If I copy the apps from the DMGs into /Applications, I also don’t get that error.

I downloaded both DMG files using Firefox 135.0 on my Mac running macOS 15.3.1. I don’t think there are any issues with downloading from GitHub at all.

I think the issue with the Minipack is that you repackage everything (which is kind of the point…) and that process loses the DMG notarisation. I think one possible fix for your use case would be for Philip to notarise the apps, not the DMG. Maybe?

But here I’m reaching the point where I don’t entirely know what’s happening under the hood.

Chris

Here is an example of plotting curves on a semi-logarithmic scale
with the GEM Eureka 2.12 software. Screen recording is performed
under GNU/Linux Mageia, with the GNU/GPL ATARI virtual machine: ARAnyM.

<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmzPWw1xxc0>

This includes obtaining ARAnyM miniPack and Eureka 2.12, and making a
demo under Mageia...

Hope you enjoy =)

In ARAnyM miniPack there's now the latest snapshot from Philipp Donzé
with `MacAranym` binary. It should run as it usually does on macOS.
Because it runs for me, under macOS Catalina on my MacBook Pro 16".
`MacAranym JIT` also runs for me, under macOS Mojave on my 27" iMac.

The GNU/GPL ATARI virtual machine runs with Apple Silicon Mac =)
