Hello!
I am having issues viewing my Vision windows from my Designer project (see "Windows" tree image below). Once I log in with Vision Client Launcher, select Windows it is blank with no available Windows to view (see Vision Launcher image below). I have verified in Designer that my project properties, Vision, Launching, Hide from Launcher is "Un-Checked" (see Project Properties image below). The only other thing I can think of is either, I am still on the "Trial" version and this version doesn't allow you to view through Vision Launcher, or my project started as a "Perspective" project...? The Perspective session launcher works and I can see everything on a web page from my Perspective tree. Any thoughts on the issue?
I am super new to Ignition. I spend about 5-days working with Perspective designer. I have moved to Vision as some colleagues have stated that they strictly use Vision for their SCADA. Still figuring out what will be better for my system, I am debating using both workstations and mobile devices. I have heard that Perspective was integrated for mobile reasons. I will check out the template projects in the next few days. Thanks for responding. I see you and PGriffth names on a lot of forums, really appreciate both of you responding so quickly. I do wish there was a way to show Vision windows in Perspective containers. I have not seen a post on how to do that.
Java and web are so drastically different that it just isn't going to happen. (Basically, the v7.9 and prior mobile module did this by image capture. Horrifyingly slow and ugly and buggy and limited.)
I am an electrical engineer, and I use phasor analysis on power systems. I need the ability to show phasor diagrams. Vision, had a static project that I was able to change the script to dynamic calling in tags. I have not been able to find a project in Perspective that shows this. Here is what it looks like in Vision.
This was a Paintable Canvas, that repaints itself to keep the dynamic tag values. I use a lot of SVG graphics in Perspective, but I have not found any projects that are able to draw and re-draw the lines, angled, and colors.
Note that Anaconda does not come with Python launcher. However, it will work to set Anaconda as your default install for Python 3.4 and install py.exe separately. For example, you can install Python 3.4 from another source, copy its py.exe to somewhere on the system path, and uninstall Python 3.4 again; then the python launcher is fully installed.
It looks like the python executable is part of the conda command if you're using Anaconda, according to their website. According to Alexander Huszagh (see his answer), the python launcher doesn't come with Anaconda python.
I just launched Zwift on my PC and it started up as usual, joined Coco and then exited the ride. I think you should try a full re-install. Delete all the Zwift folders including in your documents folder. Save any custom workouts you have made first somewhere else or you will lose them. Then download the new launcher from the website and do a full re-install.
A fix for the crash at launch on macOS was pushed out today. Next time you start Zwift, you should receive a game update that fixes the crash at launch. Please reboot your Mac and restart Zwift.
For M1 / M2 Mac users specifically:
Q1: After the update / reboot - did he launch crash go away? Were you able to log in and start Zwift, in other words?
Q2: On the Pairing Screen - did you see a message like Accept network incoming message?
Q3: If yes, and you give permission to that message - does that message go away next time you restart Zwift?
Since update to the latest version, my computer is slowing down substantially. Especially when I open Outlook or open a browser (Firefox or Chrome), the power usage would jump to as very high and the CPU would be up to 60%. Generally the CPU would be around 30% or 40% when I did not have anything open or running.
Try to find which application running in the OS background environment. such as the application running in system boot automatically. A idea could use to search the application. Sort the CPU usage from high to low, and then post the screenshot here.
Same problem. Kaspersky Lab launcher 30% CPU usage. Try switching it off and on again. So go to KIS settings, click on File Anti-Virus, make sure Security level is Optimal, turn File Anti-Virus off, save, confirm. You will receive warning notifications. Turn File Anti-Virus back on, save, confirm. Kaspersky Lab launcher should now be using 0 to 0.4% CPU usage.
Just went through the ordeal described on the microsoft page. Yes, finally found the culprits. It was not Kaspersky...I recommend to reserve 2 h or so, since you will go through frequent reboots. I had a scribble block next to me to note down which parts I disabled and what the RAM / CPU usage was after each step. Because after a few changes you turn mad ;-)
But in the end I was able to bring down RAM from 7.3 GB usage to 4.2 GB. Main memory eater was Docker Desktop which I only need from time to time but which after an update was configured to fire up each time Wnidows starts.
And also as a hint, even if I disable EVERYTHING according to the MS article I still have a MEM usage of 3.4 GB. So, at least on my computer (Lenovo Yoga C930 with 12 GB RAM and WIN10) the stories from people saying 2 GB is all that WIN and the basic services occupy is simply not applicable.
Hint #2: I also could not believe that the total of all programs / services listed in the MS resource monitor should amount up to the total RAM usage listed. But I sat down finally with a calculator and it is really adding up to this. So, no hidden VM mem eaters or whatever some people claim that there is in the dark shadows of your MS system ;-)
to add: CPU usage is high after system start, but then in all configurations leveled down to 1 - 4% after 60-90 sec after I saw my WIN desktop, no matter what system configuration I chose. After disabling all unnecessary crap, I finally arrived at 1%.
I figured to uninstall Kaspersky Total Security and remove the Kaspersky Extension from Google Chrome and guess what? From 20% ++ CPU usage, it decreased to 1.1 - 1.5%. My fan noise is not noisy as when Kaspersky was installed. The temperature is slightly better now.
I haven't tried to create new folders but after a phone restart the problem is still there. It appears that it jumbles around which apps have the issue and which ones don't. I had trouble opening Facebook last night from a folder but it seems today that it opens up just fine, however there are still applications that show this behavior still.
I am typing this as I am doing it. It seems that apps are now opening from within the default folders that the laucher has set up. I say defaults because I have work things on my phone so, I get the Microsoft folder and the Work folder.
Looks all we need to do is back up the launcher to save your current layout (if you would like to keep it that is), then reset the launcher by going to Launcher Settings>Advanced Settings>Reset, then (if you've backed it up) restore your back up.
Within the resulting My Info dialog, under the Organization area, you will see an org-name section. The information that is presented there represents your Organization Name and will be required later.
You can install the IT Managed Launcher to a specific location by adding the /D parameter to the end of the filename. Example: ./omniverse-launcher-win-enterprise.exe /S /D="C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA Omniverse Launcher"
This omniverse.toml file is the primary configuration file for the IT Managed Launcher. Within this configuration file, the following paths are described, and they should match the selections you made in step 1. Be aware that you can set these after the installation to different paths as needed for security policy at any time.
When creating or editing these configuration files, use a text editor such as Windows Notepad. Do not use a rich-text editor such as Wordpad or Microsoft Word.
By opting into telemetry within the privacy.toml, you can help improve the performance & stability of the software. For more details on what data is collected and how it is processed see this section.
5) For the last file needed in your /config folder, create a text file named license.toml This is the licensing configuration file for Omniverse. Within this licensing file, specify the Organization Name Identifier (org-name) you retrieved from the Licensing Portal in the prerequisites section:
Where represents the name and path where the downloaded application archive is on the local workstation. Be aware that it does not matter where you place the archive, the custom protocol will install the application to its default location based on the library_root path in the omniverse.toml file that you configured earlier as part of the IT Managed Launcher installation process.
When the command is run, it will trigger the IT Managed Launcher to open and it will begin the installation process. You should see a screen similar to the one below that shows the progress bar for the application being installed in the upper right of the Launcher window.
