A Message to the Palestinian Authority
Greetings of knowledge, culture, achievement, and history,
I salute our heroic Palestinian people, who have endured a historic ordeal for more than a century. Today, I address you regarding the anticipated Palestinian elections, and I wish to state the following:
The Palestinian Authority has undermined political and constitutional life in Palestine by failing to hold presidential elections for nearly twenty years, suspending legislative life, closing the Legislative Council, and pursuing policies of exclusion and marginalization under the leadership of Mr. Mahmoud Abbas.
Mr. Mahmoud Abbas has relied primarily on policies of exclusion and political marginalization, while remaining in office for nearly twenty years without new presidential elections. Mr. Nasser Al-Qudwa recently stated that the President holds working sessions for only one or two hours a day. If this is accurate, it is difficult to manage the affairs of a people living under occupation and facing immense challenges with such a limited daily workload.
Mr. Mahmoud Abbas is now over ninety years old and continues to make decisions that shape the future of a people striving for freedom and justice. Our Palestinian people possess an abundance of talented, qualified, and capable individuals who are fully able to assume leadership and renew Palestinian political life.
Therefore, I call upon Mr. Mahmoud Abbas to step down from office and to facilitate the prompt organization of presidential, legislative, and national elections, in order to restore legitimacy, renew Palestinian institutions, and safeguard the Palestinian people's right to choose their leadership through free and democratic elections.

رسالة إلى السلطة الفلسطينية
تحية العلم والثقافة والإنجاز والتاريخ،
أحيي شعبنا الفلسطيني البطل، الذي يعيش محنة تاريخية منذ أكثر من قرن، وأتوجه إليكم اليوم للحديث عن الانتخابات الفلسطينية المزمع عقدها، وأقول ما يلي:
لقد دمرت السلطة الفلسطينية الحياة السياسية والقانونية في فلسطين، سواء بعدم إجراء انتخابات رئاسية منذ نحو عشرين عامًا، أو بتعطيل الحياة التشريعية وإغلاق المجلس التشريعي، فضلًا عن سياسات الإقصاء والتهميش التي ينتهجها السيد محمود عباس.
إن السيد محمود عباس لا يعرف إلا سياسة الإقصاء والإلغاء، وهو يتولى الرئاسة منذ ما يقارب عشرين عامًا دون انتخابات رئاسية جديدة. وقد ذكر السيد ناصر القدوة مؤخرًا أن الرئيس يعقد جلسة عمل لمدة ساعة أو ساعتين يوميًا. وإذا صح ذلك، فمن الصعب إدارة شؤون شعب يواجه تحديات جسيمة ويعيش تحت الاحتلال بهذا القدر المحدود من العمل اليومي.
لقد تجاوز السيد محمود عباس التسعين من عمره، ولا يزال يتخذ قرارات مصيرية تمس مستقبل شعب مظلوم يناضل من أجل حقوقه. إن شعبنا الفلسطيني زاخر بالكفاءات والطاقات القادرة على تحمل المسؤولية وتجديد الحياة السياسية.
لذلك، أدعو السيد محمود عباس إلى التنحي عن السلطة، وإتاحة المجال لإجراء انتخابات رئاسية وتشريعية ووطنية في أقرب وقت ممكن، بما يعزز الشرعية، ويجدد المؤسسات، ويمنح الشعب الفلسطيني حقه في اختيار قيادته عبر صناديق الاقتراع.
