في إطار رسالتها الثقافية والإنسانية، تعلن جمعية المترجمين العرب (ARTA) عن ترحيبها بترشيح عضو في الكونغرس الأمريكي عُرف بمواقفه الداعمة للحق والعدالة، ووقوفه إلى جانب الشعب الفلسطيني وحقوقه المشروعة، وذلك لتكريمه بمنحه الدكتوراه الفخرية تقديرًا لمواقفه الأخلاقية والإنسانية.
