Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce travel grants for AgWireless'26, August 29 - September 3, 2026, in Ames, Iowa. Thanks to the generous support of the U.S. National Science Foundation, a limited number of travel grants are available and this year they are open to
both academics and professionals, helping participants who would otherwise find it financially challenging to attend.
AGWIRELESS'26 AT A GLANCE
AgWireless'26 convenes leaders and innovators from academia, industry, government, and communities to accelerate concerted 6G, AI, AgTech, and multi-use innovation on ARA, the first-of-its-kind wireless living lab. The week runs across three segments:
- Segment 1: ARA User Program (hands-on training + Arathon): Saturday-Sunday, August 29-30.
- Segment 2: Plenary / Main Event (keynotes, panels, demos, posters): Monday-Tuesday, August 31 - September 1.
- Segment 3: Demo & Exhibit at the Farm Progress Show: Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, September 1-3.
TRAVEL GRANT TYPES AND NUMBER OF DAYS
Travel stipends are calibrated to the number of days you attend, the more of the program you join, the larger the stipend. There are three day-based tiers, and what each covers depends on whether you participate as an academic or a professional:
Two-day grant (2 days)
- Professionals only: Plenary / main event (Aug 31 - Sep 1)
Four-day grant (4 days)
- Academics: Workshop + Plenary (Aug 29 - Sep 1)
- Professionals: Plenary + Farm Progress Show (Aug 31 - Sep 3)
Six-day grant (6 days)
- Academics only: Full event - Workshop + Plenary + Farm Progress Show (Aug 29 - Sep 3)
A few notes:
- Academics (students, faculty, and researchers) attend the Saturday-Sunday ARA User Program workshop which anchors the hands-on training and Arathon. They are also welcome to attend the two-day Plenary and Farm Progress Show.
- Professionals (industry and government) do not attend the workshop by default. Their grants cover the two-day Plenary (main event) and, optionally, the Farm Progress Show - up to four days.
- Awardees within commuting distance (about 200 miles of Ames) receive adjusted support, and awardees are encouraged to share accommodations where possible to make the most of the available funds (an optional accommodation will be provided to students only).
ELIGIBILITY AND PRIORITY
Travel grants are open to students, academics, and researchers from U.S. institutions and non-profits, as well as industry and government professionals. When applicants are otherwise equally qualified, preference is given to women and members of underrepresented
groups.
