Happy Thursday!

Below is a request from a lady who partnered with us during the tornado disaster a few years ago to help Arkansans that need assistance. They are back in AR to help people who were affected by the December storms. She has asked that we send out information to members if possible. If you can and are near the counties mentioned below, please send out this message.

I appreciate your help!

Subject: RE: Request for rental resources

You can help Arkansas disaster survivors by forwarding information about available rentals to Lisa Carlson, FEMA Housing Group Supervisor, at lisa.c...@fema.dhs.gov.  FEMA, in partnership with the State of Arkansas, is looking in and around the counties of Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Faulkner, Jackson, Jefferson, Lee, Little River, Perry, Sebastien and Sevier.  Your rental properties will appear on FEMA.gov and generate business in the community!

Survivors who register with FEMA may qualify for rental assistance, and would pay the landlord directly, on time, as per the lease agreement.  FEMA pays Fair Market Rent (FMR) as per US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) standards, although survivors are welcome to – and often do – pay more out of their own pocket to rent a property.

Together we can provide the residents of these affected counties with a sense of security and a feeling of home while they begin to recover and rebuild.

Following are helpful data points to include:

Address including city and county

POC/agent contact information

Phone

Rent per month

Number of bedrooms

Date available

Deposit (can it be waived?)

Appliances included?

Property type – apartment, house, condo

Lease terms (and would they be willing to work with disaster survivors)

Is it furnished?

Are pets ok?

Is there a pet deposit and if so how much?

Is Section 8 accepted?

Is it handicap accessible?

Any additional comments

Thank you for assisting Arkansas disaster survivors.
