Jean-Michel Jarre, The Vizitors, realizo un concierto en Okinawa a princpios
de este año.
El concierto llamado Rendez Vous in the Space sirvio para "felicitar" al
2001, y conto con la presencia virtual de Arthur C. Clarke en la pantalla
presentando todas las canciones y participando en alguna que otra con
"samplers" de su voz. Es curioso el tema "my Name is Arthur" donde sale todo
el rato en la pantalla repitiendo esa misma frase

OUVERTURE PART 1 & 2
I am Arthur Clarke. Good evening Jean Michel. Good evening TK. Good evening
Okinawa. I am with you in spirit for our "Rendezvous In Space" with The
ViZitors. Happy 2001 everybody! The Future is Now!
THE VOYAGE
We are all voyagers on Spaceship Earth. But when we leave it, we have to
take with us the environment that nature has given us. We must know where
we're going, so we have to have computers and telescopes. We have to build
an artificial world in fact... And when we'll be doing that, we'll travel
out into the universe on voyages which may take Months to the nearer
planets. Years to the closest stars. Thousands of years to the more distant
stars and perhaps Millions of years to other galaxies.
MY NAME IS ARTHUR
Losing in space would be much the same as on Earth and when I say in space I
mean in a spaceship because as everyone knows in space no-one can hear you
scream... IN SPACE, NO-ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM!
CHILDREN OF SPACE
Lifeforms on other planets will be even more varied than they are on this
planet. They will depend to a large extent on the gravitational field on a
planet which has a much higher gravity than Earth - obviously you couldn't
have large animals - they'd be small and squat and perhaps with many legs.
On the other hand, on planets with very low gravity you would have very
spindly, thin animals - very tall ones - and trees perhaps hundreds of feet
or hundreds of metres high and maybe even kilometres high. The variations we
will find in space are almost infinite..
NOBODY
Space is unimaginally empty. Beyond human comprehention. The planets and
stars are seperated by inconceviable distances. So one of the aspects of
space is utter lonliness. And of course, absolute silence. The effect on the
human psychy will be profound - some people may even go mad, because of the
lonliness and silence. On the other hand, others may find themselves in that
very emptiness.
RENDEZ-VOUS IN SPACE
A "Rendez-vous in Space" would be a meeting with other space
travellers -human or alien. It could be re-visiting a colony in space, on a
planet or a space station. Obviously there'll be a great deal of love-making
in space and there are some suggestions that's already happened. Making love
under low gravity obviously has attractions as how often does the weight of
your partner cut of your circulation!?
RACE IN SPACE
Because light travels at a finite speed - and so therefore anything further
away is further and further back in time. The Moon is only a second away.
The planets, minutes away. The Stars, years away back in time.
If we do have visitors from space obviously they'll know much more about the
universe than we do, so we'll ask them what it's like out there. But I think
the most important question we could ask them is "Do you believe in God?".

THE VOYAGE
Somos todos viajeros de la nave espacial tierra. Pero cuando la dejamos,
tenemos que tomar llevar nosotros el ambiente que la naturaleza nos ha dado.
Debemos saber adónde vamos, así que tenemos que tener ordenadores y
telescopios. De hecho tenemos que construir un mundo artificial ... Y cuando
hagamos eso, viajaremos hacia el universo exterior en viajes que pueden
llevar meses a los planetas más cercanos. Años a las estrellas más cercanas.
Millares de años a las estrellas y quizás a millones de años a las más
distantes galaxias.

Perderse en el espacio sería muy parecido a hacerlo en en la tierra y cuando
digo en el espacio significa en una nave espacial porque como cada uno sabe
en el espacio nadie puede oírle gritar... EN ESPACIO, NADIE PUEDE OÍRLE
GRITAR!
CHILDREN OF SPACE
Las formas de vida en otros planetas será variadas, aún más que en este
planeta. Dependerán mucho del campo gravitacional si un planeta tiene una
gravedad mucho más alta que la tierra - obviamente usted no podría tener
animales grandes - estos serían pequeños y aplastados y quizás con muchas
piernas. Por otra parte, en los planetas con gravedad muy baja usted seria
ligero, animales finos - muy altos - y árboles de quiza centenares de pies
o quizá kilómetros de altos. Las variaciones que encontraremos en espacio
son casi infinitas.
NOBODY
El espacio esta inimagiunablemente vacío. Más allá de la comprension
humano. Los planetas y las estrellas estan separados por distancias
inconceviable. Por eso uno de los aspecto de nuestro universo es la completa
soledad. Y por supuesto, silencio absoluto. El efecto sobre la psique humana
será profundo - algunas personas pueden incluso ir volverse loca debido a la
soledad y el silencio. Por otra parte, otros pueden encontrarse que en si
mismos estan vacios.
RENDEZ-VOUS IN SPACE
Un " Rendez-vous en espacio " sería una reunión con otros viajeros del
espacio - ser humano o alien. Podría revisitar a una colonia en espacio, en
un planeta o una estación espacial. Obviamente habrá mucha genracion de amor
el espacio y hay algunas sugerencias en lo que sucede ya. Hacer el amor bajo
gravedad baja tiene obviamente ventajas o no es normal que el peso de su
pareja le corte la circulacion?
RACE IN SPACE
Porque la luz viaja a una velocidad finita - y así que por lo tanto
cualquier cosa lejos en el espacio esta tambien mas lejos en el tiempo.
La luna esta solamente a un segundo . Los planetas, a minutos. Las
estrellas, nos mueven años hacia atrás en tiempo.
Si tuvieramos visitantes del espacio sabrian obviamente mucho más sobre el
universo que nosotros , así que les podriamos preguntar como es todo alli
fuera.
Pero pienso que la pregunta más importante que nosotros podríamos
preguntarles es " Usted cree en Dios? ".
