The Avian Welfare Coalition needs your help to raise awareness of the plight of birds in captivity and in the wild. CBS Early Show in New York will cover National Bird Day from their plaza and your help is needed to make this opportunity a success.

Today nearly 12 percent of the world’s 9,800 bird species may face extinction within the next century, including nearly one-third of the world’s 330 parrot species; and millions of captive birds lead miserable lives languishing in cages.

Anyone wishing to take the FREE "CBS Early Show Bus" from Times Square should get to the east side of 47th Street and 8th Avenue by the 7:00 a.m. daily departure time. The bus arrives on the plaza in time for the 7:30 a.m. half hour. Right after the show, the bus returns anyone wishing to go back to Times Square.
