Animal rights activists shouted and jeered outside a southern Alberta courthouse as a man accused of attacking a puppy made a brief appearance.
William Goyette of Turner Valley, who is 19, faces animal cruelty charges.
RCMP alleged last month that Goyette kicked, threw and punched a 12-week-old Collie named Lucky, breaking its jaw and three legs.
