Hello,

I´m trying to use the aed_macroalgae module, but I keep getting this error:

"ERROR: external variable yearday not found."

What am I missing? I can´t find any examples that use this module yet so it´s quite difficult to find the reason as there are no configuration examples.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Patricia

The macro-algae module has changed over a few versions, and depends on some options selected such as benthic-mode.

Could I get you to outline the problem at https://github.com/AquaticEcoDynamics/glm-aed/issues (I assume your suing GLM-AED), and add a few more details, outlining your model version, and nml files? Or feel free to email me directly and I'll be able to assist with an example.

Hi Matt,

I was using the wrong build that was using glm_aed2.F90 instead of glm_aed.F90, that has fixed that problem.

I´m just new at trying the model so there could be lots of configuration options I´m not doing right, that´s why I´m missing a bit of information on the website about these macroalgae module or a working example that I could use to build and understand from.

At the moment, from the log file (attached), it looks like none of the MAG variables are getting registered as Diagnostic variables so when it gets to "Configured AED variables to simulate:", the execution crashes with no message.
