I found that slime cannot talk to its attached lisp process.

The problem seems to be the value of temporary-file-directory, which is

"/var/folders/xq/ll1d80qs7hnbw3253yc1_x6m0000gn/T/"

I have no idea why it is this value instead of /tmp, but it is certainly
breaking SLIME (at least SLIME as pulled from git).

I started Aquamacs w/o my configuration and found the same value for t-f-d.

Is this a change that might have happened in the last nightly? I was
able to use SLIME until recently.

Thanks,
r

I am sorry -- this seems to be a red herring. I restarted everything,
and the use of the /var/folders directory does not seem to be what broke
things.

I will see if I can recover enough context to figure out the bug, but
for now have to chalk this up as UNCONFIRMED>

best,
