Status of the Amigos.

For those who couldn't make the meeting on 11/12: This is what took place. A discussion on the future of the Aqua Amigos, and nominations were  proposed for a new core of officers. One person volunteered to take up the position of secretary. No other nominations were made, and the existing officers declined to continue. It was then proposed and voted that the business Aqua Amigos Inc. be dissolved. That was past with one nay and the rest in favor

The next order of business was what to do with the club treasury, Approximately ($6,000.00). A proposal was made that after administrative expenses acquired with the club this year, and regarding the dissolving of the business are paid, the remaining club treasury be divided as follows. $500.00 donated to Divers alert network (DAN) and the rest divided evenly between The Ohio counsel of skin and SCUBA divers (OCSSD), and The Ohio Maritime Archaeological Society (MAST). This was voted unanimously with one person abstaining. 

With this taking place, I would like to add the club is not disbanding. The Aqua Amigos will no longer function as a business entity with officers, dues and a treasury. The Christmas Party is taking place, and looks like around 40 amigos will attend. It is the hope we can still get together and maintain the friendship and camaraderie we have developed over the years. The google groups email and facebook page will continue. It has been a Pleasure serving as The President over the last five years. On behalf of myself and the rest of the officers, We are looking forward to the next chapter. Kelly and I want to thank you and the other officers of this club for all you have done for the Aqua Amigos. We were very impressed with your email. It was very well written and obviously from your heart. Your explanation of what will happen with our club was very clear and has set our minds at ease that this is not the end of the Amigos, but just a new beginning. We are so looking forward to the Banquet and will miss you and Maureen. We are also looking forward to seeing our Amigos at future gatherings.
