For about the last week my Netflix channel is very slow and then freezes while trying to stream on my TCL Roku TV. I checked for updates, nothing. I deleted and re-downloaded the channel, nothing. My account is working just fine on my phone, but not on the TV. Is it just me? Any ideas on how to fix this?
It's not just you. I have the same problem, but it's been happening for at least 6 months. There is major lag when navigating in the app, and then it soon freezes. I usually have to turn the TV off to be able to get back in.
I have similar weird lag with the volume controls when I'm in the HBO Max app. I also have a TCL Roku TV. I have tried deleting and replacing the app, and system restarts. Restarting sometimes seems to help for a day, but then the problem returns.
@Mionephoenix- After removing a channel, best practice is to restart your Roku to clear its memory before reinstalling the channel. Did you do this?
Restart via Settings > System > System restart (for Roku TVs: Settings > System > Power > System restart)
What I'm reading indicates the reinstallations you're doing aren't being done the right way. The order I see it listed is incorrect. There is a correct order, and that order is important. Now, this doesn't guarantee this will resolve, but the troubleshooting you are attempting isn't being done correctly.

I'd be happy to take a closer look to see how we can help get you up and running.
A few questions here to better understand what you're experiencing:
1. Are you using a Roku TV or a Roku device?
2. Does the issue only occur on a specific channel or all channels on your Roku device?
3. Are you receiving error messages or codes when accessing the channel?
4. What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far to try to resolve the issue?

At the beginning of using the iPhone, all applications loaded quickly, whether it was an application that weighs 100 megabytes or 10 gigabytes, and now, after some use, an application that weighs 57 megabytes swings for one hour or more, any application that I put on the jump swings for an hour or more
Do you use VPN? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. VPN cuts communications speeds to 1/4 of the available bandwidth, or, depending on the provider, even more.
To illustrate, the 17.4.1 update on my iPad and 14.4.1 on 14" MBP have never been completed, no matter the time of day I try or how long I allow them to run. And this is across days of allowing them to try. All apps with software updates by MS and Adobe during that time have proceeded as expected, quickly, without undue pause or delay.
Re-configuring TCP and DNS and even rebooting all devices have not changed this. A few minutes ago, Adobe updated 3 apps in the CC in 10 minutes. Before that, Apple could not download a Pages update more than a MB or two after 15 minutes. After trying repeatedly over three days, the MBP stated 4 days for the 14.4.1 update. A Surface Pro 2 updated its OS and apps after 2 months offline in about an hour, using the same WiFi and settings.
My next step will be to take a device or two to a wholly different location and attempt to download the recommended Apple updates, but the evidence thus far indicates a significant issue at Apple, not the ISP or devices.
I've been facing a similar issue for at least the past 6 months or more. All app store downloads, be it on my iPhone 14 Pro, 2017 MBP 15", 2023 Mac mini or one of those recent iPads, they are very very.. very slow! I have a 400Mbps connection, and all downloads are generally okay and match the speed of my internet except for from the App store. I'm not sure if its the VPN, since I've had them installed in my systems for the last 4+ years. This issue is a recent development. However, I must point out that on my iPhone, as soon as I switch off the wifi and it connects to my 4G / 5G, the download becomes lightning fast immediately. So not sure what is the fault here. I hope Apple can give an explanation soon, as it is starting to get really annoying especially for use on macs where I cannot switch to my cellular network.
What was the fix for me was enabling Private Relay which is a feature of iCloud+ (Tap on your name in the Settings app, then press iCloud). After enabling, I stopped and restarted the app download. What was a 2 hour download became a 2 minute download.
VPN frequently creates more problems than it solves. But one important fact is that when you install VPN it configures itself to the specific hardware, iOS version and network that the phone uses. If any of those change it can break the VPN. So any time you change any of these you may need to delete the VPN app and profile, restart your phone then add them back (if you still want to use VPN) so it can configure itself to the new environment.
Here is what I found... Releasing the DHCP lease on the router will release the old IP address. It should then it pick up a new IP address. I did this until I got an IP address outside of that IP block. I also temporarily disabled the firewall within the router.
I am receiving the same error code from Netflix as well: Error code M7037-1101. All other sites work correctly except Netflix (including Youtube for me). But on my Fios home network, I cannot connect through the new STB option, computer or phone. However, Netflix works perfect when I turn the WiFi option off and stream through my LTE connection. It appears Fios has blocked or throttled Netflix.
Thanks for your suggestions. I have been working with Verizon tech support in the past a couple of days to solve this problem. They have done what can be done including reboot ont, router, etc., and even sent me a new gateway router.
I am having the same issue. Tried everything with no resolve. The interesting thing is that I can watch YouTube and Netflix via my computers but not through smart TV or mobile devices connected to wifi.
Thanks guys. I'm at a loss. Any attempts to connect to Netflix through any device on my network appears like it is blocked, behind a proxy. The Set Top Box shows the red Netflix on black screen and the loading symbol just spins. The laptops and phone pull only text, no images or graphics appear. If I turn WiFi off on my phone and use the LTE, Netflix instantly pulls in all of the info and graphics and works normally. All other sites I have tested seem to work completely fine. I have rebooted the ONT, router, devices, etc as mentioned to no avail. Any thoughts to be able to even explain this to a Verizon support person?
Having the same issue here in pittsburgh. Youtube works occasionally from my macbook, not at all on phone/ipad. No netflix at all. Pulls up fine when not on my home wifi. If verizon doesnt acknowledge this or find a fix I'm switching ISPs. This is ridiculous.
Agreed, it has been very hard. I do have a help ticket into Verizon which they are looking into this issue. I have sent them our tracert results and they do believe it is a bigger problem. They looked at it today but have said they will have something in 48 hours.
I experienced the same issue (with similar traceroute results) around the same time, also in Pittsburgh, PA. I believe it was resolved around the same time as well. The issue has resurfaced for me, as of this evening. I contacted both Netflix and FiOS when I first experienced the issue. I followed all recommended troubleshooting steps, but nothing helped. Both services blamed the other party. The issue resolved itself (earlier this month) with no action or changes on my end. I'm prepared to switch ISPs at this point.
I have the same issue in pittsburgh. The problem went away last week, then came back yesterday. Fios assures me they are not blocking, and claims the problem is on netflix's side. I find this dubious.
I have had in the past Netflix slowdowns when I had cable internet, and I called and they would blame my modem. However after unplugging my then modem and my router the speed returned. Was it Time Warner who said it was a Netflix issue, or Netflix who blamed Time Warner and my devices.
Actually, if you wish to download Netflix videos of these definitions at a faster speed, you ought to make sure that the network speed can even exceed the figures given out for streaming the videos online. Normally, if your network connectivity can reach 50 Mbps, it is sufficient to download Netflix videos with quick performance.
