Be sure to keep your backup codes somewhere safe but accessible. Since the backup codes are mainly used when you cannot access your authenticator app, we recommend keeping your backup codes somewhere other than on the device with the app.
IMPORTANT! Do not use backup codes as the primary way to log in to your account. Only use a backup code when you cannot access your authenticator app (e.g., lost, broken, or new device). If you get a new device, be sure to disable and then reenable 2FA on your Activision account using a supported authenticator app* on your new device.
Players can only have one crossplay-enabled Call of Duty game open at a time. Please make sure one of the following games is not open on your console or PC before launching Warzone Mobile:
Add an extra layer of security to your Activision account by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA). This security feature requires a second step to verify your identity before accessing your account, providing greater protection of your account and personal information.
Players are required to enter a two-factor authentication (2FA) code from a supported Authenticator app each time they log in to the game with an Activision account. Backup codes will not work when logging in to the game.
When you have 2FA enabled, you will be asked to enter a security code each time you log in to your Activision account. After entering your email address and password, a second screen will appear asking you to enter a two-factor authentication code. The code will be generated by the authenticator app you choose* when you enable 2FA.

I was trying to connect to my activision account and it said I needed my two-step verification access code and I looked on my authentication app from you guys and it wasn't there so now I can't log into my account and I can't find a new password or get a new password because I can't log into the account in the first place.
Not much to go on but you can restore from an authenticator cloud backup (assuming there was one) but make sure no accounts have been added to the newly install app. Then sign on with recovery account to do the restore.
You can recover your account credentials from your cloud account, but you must first make sure that the account you're recovering doesn't exist in the Microsoft Authenticator app. For example, if you're recovering your personal Microsoft account, you must make sure you don't have a personal Microsoft account already set up in the authenticator app. This check is important so we can be sure we're not overwriting or erasing an existing account by mistake. -us/account-billing/back-up-and-recover-account-credentials-in-the-authenticator-app-bb939936-7a8d-4e88-bc43-49bc1a700a40
Ok, I just spent 2 hours figuring this out, so the game prompting me for a security check was call of duty through the blizzard launcher. You must update your phone number on activisions login. Then the security check will send the security code to your new phone number. I also updated my authenticator on blizzard to my new number, and my blizzard account phone number as well. After updating everything it works fine now.

The Battle.net Authenticator is now available within the Battle.net Mobile App. The Battle.net Authenticator provides two-factor authentication to keep your Battle.net Account secure.
If you are an existing user of the Battle.net app simply tap the Authenticator option from the side menu and click Enable.
Don't have access to the previous device?
If you no longer have access to your old device, you will need to click "Can't Log In" on the login screen. If you have phone notifications set up you can verify your identity through SMS verification to remove the old authenticator from your account allowing you to set up the authenticator in the Battle.net Mobile App. If you are unable to verify your account through SMS you will need to contact customer support for assistance with removing your old authenticator.
Note: The SMS verification code is sent to the phone number linked to your Battle.net Account. If you changed your phone number you will need to update your Battle.net Account phone number before you can restore your Authenticator.
When you attach both the Battle.net Authenticator and Battle.net Phone Notifications to your account, your primary backpack size is increased. If you remove either the Battle.net Authenticator or your phone number, your backpack reverts to its original size and the items in those slots are moved to free slots in another bag.
In addition, you receive the Core Hound Pup, an account-wide pet available to World of Warcraft players on realms located in North America, Europe, Taiwan, and Korea. After attaching a Battle.net Authenticator, you'll find the Core Hound Pup available in your collection.
Battle.net Phone Notifications are designed for text-enabled mobile phones. Messaging apps like iMessage (iOS) or WhatsApp (iOS, Android) are not supported. Phone notifications cannot be used with Voice over IP (VoIP), and VoIP numbers that are transferred to a local provider are not eligible for the service.
Once you have set up two-factor authentication for your account using a specific app, you still have the option of changing to a different one. To do so, go to /login > My Account > Two Factor Authentication and click Replace Authenticator App.
You are taken to the initial setup screen. Repeat the initial setup process but this time with the new authenticator app you wish to use. If this is an app you already used and registered, simply enter the code. If it is a new app, you must scan the QR code again.
When done, click Replace. The previous app is disabled, and you must use the new app selected at the next login. You can always change back or select a different one by repeating the steps above.
As an administrator, you may remove a user's current authenticator app. Go to the user's settings page, and under Account Settings > Two Factor Authentication, select Remove Current Authenticator App. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save. The next time the user logs in, only their username and password will be needed to log in to the administrative interface and the BeyondTrust representative console.
BeyondTrust is the worldwide leader in intelligent identity and access security, enabling organizations to protect identities, stop threats, and deliver dynamic access. UPDATE 2023: Google authenticator now uses the cloud to sync backups of your codes. So in future if you lose your phone and forget to export the codes these will now be stored in the cloud.
Last night I realized that I am unable to receive authentication texts for both Activision blizzard and EA, i contacted those services and they have both said that the messages were sent and it was an issue with EE, this morning i called 150 and after checking my number they told me that those messages were automatically blocked across the network to prevent scams.
to give some context, activision blizzard uses a service called sms protect on free to play games to make it more difficult for people to make more than one account, if you cannot receive these authentication text messages then you are unable to play those games and you will be unable to until you can verify a phone number.
