We were approached to be featured in a Hallmark adoption story where they would follow us before during and after the adoption. We declined because we were afraid it would adversely affect adoptions for future gay parents. We believed at the time that there might be prejudice toward this end. I was asked when I filed my paperwork in Vietnam to complete the adoption, why did I not have any biological children. I answered that my career and surgery removed that option early in my life.
