Ethica is pleased to announce the formation of the Adoption Consumer Assistance and Protection Service(ACAP), an integral part of our "Coalition for Change" effort. The ACAP will provide consumer complaint and satisfaction surveys, educational resources, and case management services to the adoption community. Not just for adoptive parents, the ACAP will provide services to birth parents, adoptees, and foster parents as well.
Ethica's "Coalition for Change" is designed to bring together the many segments of the adoption community to work the for improvement of adoption and foster care. By organizing efforts and joining voices, the Coalition will be able to effectively speak to the need for improved consumer protection, family and child assistance, and regulatory reform.
The stakes have never been higher. For example, in the last 15 years, 43% of the most popular countries that U.S. Citizens adopt from have closed--most often in the wake accusations about child trafficking and other illegal activity. Yet, adoption is one of the least regulated industries in America. If we don't fix it soon, we will lose it!
We invite you to visit our website (www.ethicanet.org) and read about the Coalition for Change, the ACAP, and how you can be part of this effort! Together, we can improve adoption! Add your voice to the effort today!
Best Regards,
Melissa Barrigar
