Enab ling horizontal scrolling

Hi, I am trying out the APV pdf viewer and am puzzled by a statement in the settings.  My preferred scrolling set up is horizontal on a portrait view and when i try to set horizontal scrolling I see this statement under vertical scrolling:

"to scroll horizontally you must first move  horizontally 1/5 of the screen width".

I am afraid I am not comprehending what this statement is asking me to do in practical terms.  Perhaps someone could explain it, possibly with an example?

If someone could just explain directly how to establish horizontal scrolling for this reader I would also be grateful, it seems to always be a tricky functionality to find in most readers!

We do not have horizontal scrolling between pages, only horizontal
scrolling within a page if you zoom in. The vertical scrolling option
makes it difficult to pan horizontally, so that the text stays aligned
within the margins. To pan horizontally within a page with the option
on, you simply have to have pan horizontally by more than a fifth of
the screen width. But this won't help you with your usage need.
