Q: What was "The Triple Hurdle" that Sojourner Truth had to overcome?
A: Sojourner Truth had a "triple hurdle" to overcome in that she was at once an abolitionist in a black society, a black reformer among whites, and a woman in a reform movement that was mainly led by men. She was an exclusive minority as an african-american female abolitionist.

I agree with Tobi, Truth was at the lowest status in society being both african american and a woman. However she overcame her obstacles and proudly fought for what was right. She spoke at many women's rights and abolition conventions. She met Abraham Lincoln in 1864 and died in 1883 a free woman.
