We have several states that are denying standing devices, and are trying to gather information to fight this.  I have pasted the text below from the flyer attached, in case it is unable to be opened.

SURVEY ON UTILIZATION OF STANDING & STANDING DEVICES AS PART OF PT TREATMENT
Be a consumer advocate for standing devices - it’s quick and easy! The Neurology Sections Assistive Technology/Seating and Wheeled Mobility SIG is conducting a brief survey. We are teaming with consumer advocates challenging funding program decisions that deny requests for standing devices to be used by clients in their homes. This issue spans age groups and practice areas (Pediatric, Neurology, Health Policy Administration, Geriatrics, Federal, etc.).
The most common basis for denial is that standing devices requested by clients for home-use are not “medically necessary”, are “experimental;” and are “not effective”. That assertion, however, will be contradicted -- and its credibility eroded -- by proof that the same funding program concluded aided standing and standing device use was “medically necessary” and payment was approved when provided in a clinic; office; school; or other outpatient setting. The medical necessity of aided standing is not setting dependent.
This is where you come in!
Your help is needed to gather information that will be used for advocacy purposes. We are interested in your experience using any type of aided standing and/or standing device with your clients that you billed for and were paid for as part of your physical therapy services. It is estimated that this survey will take less than 15 minutes to complete. Please use your best estimate over the past 12 month period as a basis for your response.

Thank you in advance for your time and participation! The survey will close September 30, 2015 at 5pm ET.
