Workin' for the weekend - Update 11/14-16

First of all, I'M SO HAPPY ABOUT ALL OF THE PEOPLES BEING IN TOWN! Jale Sweet Love has been around and I'm absorbing all of that sweet, sweet lovin'! Courtenay can you pop up to DC for a bit while you're back in VA?! Kaity, DUH, I'll be seeing you! 

This weekend was fabbly fab but maybe a little too busy and I need a serious break. 

Friday I had happy hour with my fellow trivia hosts (we never see each other since we're all working solo at different venues so it's always nice to get together). Then I got to see MS. JALE and my wonderful roommate Ariel for dinner. We were going to go out but decided to go home and drink wine instead because that's always a better plan. Jale is a wonderful ukelele player and songwriter these days!

Saturday I brunched (YAY BOTTOMLESS) then I went home for a power nap and then it was back out to "Drink the World," a beer fest with beers from all over the world (duh). I went with this guy I'm kind of starting to see named Brian and his friends and his sisters who were in town from MA for his birthday. A little overwhelming but pretty great. Saide met up with us later and we all had a memorable night that we couldn't remember the next day...

Sunday I needed to sleep ALL DAY because I was up late with the boy… and then I remembered I had tickets for As You Like It with my friend that night! We were in AYLI in high school and we were doing a little throwback! It was surprisingly not done very well, even though Shakespeare Theater Company put it on. But still fun to go and recite the lines (in my head, of course).

Monday night was ALMOST like a weekend because I hosted trivia at Bier Baron and ended up staying out SO late (oops). Jale & her travel bud Kate & Ariel joined! And tonight is another trivia night! It's like my whole life is a weekend...

so jealous of everyone hanging out! leah, sounds like you had a champion weekend. mine unfortunately kinda sucked. i was basically at work all weekend. not fun. but I did go see Old Crow Medicine Show with my family saturday night. That was so much freaking fun. Sooooo country. so many rednecks. but they were so much fun to see live.

Hi loves!!!!!! Miss you guys. Wooo weekend updates are the best. Yay! So Friday you heard bout from Leah woo wine night and catching up with JALE sweet love. Saturday was chills McGill's, finished knitting my hat, nothing crazy there. Went out to a place in crystal city with Chris where a bunch of old people who actually all had AMAZING voices were all doing karaoke. Sunday drove out to where my new job is going to be!!! Its far but I'm SUPER pumped about it :) then I made butternut squash soup for a cook and tell where you make a dish that has a story - I told the story when we were on safari where we nearly got squashed by an elephant haha...

I too am supremely jealous of your hangout fun times!!

Mine also kinda sucked, my parents are in town but I just have so much work so I couldn't entertain them. I launched 1 product last Thursday (Skreenstv.com) and it's just not going well. Really cool product but people don't get that they are raising money now!

I also have a really really cool project called Mars by CrazyBaby (crazybaby.com) and we're helping to launch their (levitating!) speaker product in 2 weeks! ZOMG.

Even so, we played on Saturday and went to a winery and a brewery tour and then cooked dinner. Nina Wester came over to say hi to the 'rents! I've known her since we were 2, crazy times.

Sunday was a little more chill, we did errands all morning (took advantage of my mom's Petco discount!) and then came back to the house to do some housework. Then we went out to the Bill Gates Foundation Reception event (the 'rents are here for a conference and got our names on the list) and they had weird "circus" performers who just did a bunch of acro-yoga and behaved silly. We ate food from around the world and it was good.

Yesterday, more work, and more conference stuff. It sucks that I'm missing out on parental time :( they are here today, we'll cook some dinner, and then they fly back out tomorrow morning around 5ish!
