So I have cliffnotes this week!

1. BIRTHDAY
2. John met my friends.
3. Birthday sex is my favorite.
4. Knitting and netflixing, my new favorite past time.
5. Fucking shots, Tucker.
6. lazy sack of shit.
7. I hate the BBC.

Tuesday: My birthday!! went to work, of course. blegh. Went to dinner with roommates, MC and Anna downtown. Yumm. My friends, Tucker and Molly meet up with us for after dinner drinks. I stupidly promise Tucker that he can buy my a shot (hate shots) when we all go out on Friday.

Wednesday: Trivia!!! so, my friends and I play trivia every Wednesday. This time is slightly significant, because I run into some of John's friends, and then low-and-behold, John walks in later. We wave, and he goes inside to join his friends. He then comes back outside to where I'm sitting with my friends to talk with us for a bit. So, John and I have been seeing each other for three months now, and he has never met my friends. Not that this changes anything about our relationship, but at least my friends have proof that he exists now. Anyway, trivia was fun, and then John and I went back to his place after for some birthday sex. There are some nights when I go over there when the sex is a bit meh, but then there are the times when he fucking delivers. This was one of those times plus more. Shit! I'm a big fan of birthday sex. Also, no shave November is starting, and so far this guy is pulling it off flawlessly.

Thursday: boring. knitting and netflixing

Friday: My birthday party! really fun night. good group of people showed up. MC and Anna made a killer gin bucket. I was holding my own drunkenly until we head out to bars, and Tucker buys me that shot. The drunker I got, the more agreeable I was to the idea of shots. These weren't gross liquor shots, but really delicious shooters. Fucked me up. I haven't blacked out since college. But i don't remember a single thing past my roommates and I deciding to go home. All in all, it was a very drunken, but responsibly so, evening.

Saturday: Did absolutely nothing all day long. and it was glorious. Finished my scarf, and started another one. And I finished the TV series I was watching. So you guys know I like my fantasy/sci-fi/adventure shows, and I have been watching a BBC show called Merlin. Obviously about Merlin and King Arthur. Its fun. Campy. Little lame. Kinda Doctor Who family friendly type feel. but there are also cute shirtless knights, and I really liked it. Anyway, you get really attached to Merlin and Arthur, and the finale comes along and BAM! Sucker punch to the feels! It's like the writers all decided, "Let's take the overarching goals and general purpose of all the characters in this show, throw them out the window, and write a stupid tragedy of an ending to make all the fans bawl." NO! you dip shits! We are all crying because every single one of us could have written a better ending, and we know it. I have never been so let down by the finale of a show. UGH! i swear, the BBC can just go and die some times. ok, I'm done.

Sunday: this new scarf is really hard. went over to the parents for dinner, and mom helped me with the scarf too. Then I went over to a friend's apartment for board game night. super fun. We played catch phrase and some other games too. Left early to go home and get some sleep.

Such an awesome birthday weekend! You deserved those birthday shots (and okay the birthday sex too)!

Friday Ben and I went to Tilth, a fantastic restaurant by some iron chef, for our belated anniversary dinner. Freakin fantastic food. Melts in your mouth, crunches in the right place, totally food porn worthy.

Saturday I got my hair cut, and met with a friend at Uneeda Burger - not fast foody at all, I had truffle butter and mushrooms on my burger. Walked for 30 minutes and called Sarah while she got aspirin and knitted. Saw Ender's Game with another group of friends. Pretty okay in terms of plot and closeness to story, and really great visual effects. Shopped for an engagement photo outfit for Ben, then we all regrouped for dinner at Cactus, a Mexican restaurant. Chile relleno and squash tamales, so good. Drove home while the rest of the gang including Ben went back to play board games. Talked to Saide for 45 mins while I walked to another friend's house. (Man I am all about the walk and talk) then went out for drinks with my friend Nina. Played Buck Hunter at a bar. I suck at it.

Sunday was the engagement photo shoot! We went to Pioneer Square for a cool urban setting, and Meredith McKee took our photos. They are so cute, I can't wait for all the final photos! We walked around and then had a beer while waiting for the sun to set and the street lights turn on, and they came on just in time. Ah, so perfect.

That's it for me! Work is toning down just a smidge because today is the big event day! Hopefully it goes well. We shall see...

HAPPY SARAH DAY, YAY! Shots! And yeah, the BBC can be so shit sometimes. British people, seriously... (just kidding, I love/miss them. and I love the Scottish woman using the conference room across the hall from my office for her glorious accent).

Hooray for the engagement photos, Kaity! Can't wait to see them. And good luck today :P

Friday - I did a whole lot of NADA. I am still getting used to trying to have energy to do things at the end of the work week...

Saturday - Lazy day catching up on TV shows and running some errands. Returned shoes at DSW and bought some more. Went out with the BEAUTIFUL Ariel & Jale that night. Intended to go to a house party, but instead we just drank it up at a few bars, had some good girl times, and then went to our respective homes pretty early. Oh, and I had some really disappointing dim sum.

Sunday - Another lazy day, but this time there was some PACKING involved. So Ariel & I are still waiting on lease finalization but we're officially moving! Woot woot! Look out world. Had an hour long skype-age with my French friend from work last year. Then went out to dinner with my uncle and his girlfriend (life partner, basics, because they've been together since before I was born). Yummy Greek small plates at Tel Veh. They tell me about all these great things to do in DC, and they're clearly excited about me living here. They offer to look over lease (he's a lawyer). They offer to give us old furniture that, coincidentally, is being stored in my grandmother's house. And we find out that though he works in Rockville, he sometimes has meetings in DC... in the office building where I work, on the same floor! UNREAL. He had a meeting here yesterday and popped in for a quick hello.

Also... Ariel and I are going to have a RECORD PLAYER in our place. Suck on that! Anyone have any unused vinyl?

Love,
Sacky sack
