Hello my lovelies!

Keepin' it real, I didn't do much this weekend. Date night Friday at Ray's Boathouse on the water. Napped most of the day Saturday. Grocery shopping on Sunday & called JT (brother) for his 21st birthday. Sad that I missed the family gathering for his bday.

Last week I was pretty frustrated at work, because of tight, unrealistic deadlines... My team won a new client on Thursday the week prior (Oct. 24), and we are planning an event for them on November 12th (next Tuesday). I'm talking venue, catering,  valet, custom invitations, and favors at the event. 80 custom invitations, probably 50-60 may show up. $20k for the whole shebang. (There is lots of money in commercial development... $8k alone in giveaways). While the event is going to be kick-ass, it's super stressful.

gahh I am learning a lot, and this is pretty great, but there is a ton of heat because "little" things aren't getting done - like someone wants me to update a spreadsheet or get them a research project, and I can't because I'm juggling ten deadlines for marketing & event planning. No one understands how time works! Or how priorities line up!

Ending my rant. It gets better. We hired a new girl with event & promotions experience - class of 2012 from U. Pittsburgh who started today. I finally have someone my own age around here! And someone who can help! Yay!

Ello lemon drops!

Ugh Kaity that is not so good on the muchos deadlines :( you're doing amazing juggling it all! And yay for learning a lot! And yay for new person your age? Is she cool? Is she fun and chill?

So ya! Went out on Thursday night with my man friend who had his LAST DAY at his company (the one I split an office with, which is how we met)! He has a sweet new job so it's all happy but I am going to misssss having him in the same building and being able to sneak off in the middle of the day and make out in the stairwell or go on walks!!! So ya, we went to Columbia Heights (Wonderland Ballroom) and were merry and watched cool costumes. I bought a last minute cvs costume of a "flirty devil", I'm so lame.

Friday night -- my UVA friend Erin comes over and we make dinner! She's great and we catch up and drink wine and it was lovely. I pass out relatively early.

Saturday -- lazy morning, go on a looooooooooooooong run, it feels sososo good, haven't run that long in a while dang. Then at 5 we go to Chris' really good friends' engagement party! It's fun and nice and I know all of his friends pretty well now so it's funsies and we eat nummy food and drink! Chris gets wastey pants and starts saying hilarious things. We go back and pass out at 11.

Sunday -- watch a bit of Argo in the morning. SUCH an amazing movie wow wow. Didn't finish it though. Poor Leah is texting me telling me she is sick :( but she is a TROOPER and we go to look at an apartment at 1PM. The CEO of the management company is the one who shows us the place because the other person got sick at the last minute. OMG we loved the place sososo much. It's near courthouse (0.4 mi from metro) and rosslyn (0.7 mi from metro) and it's stupid cute and has a nice new renovated kitchen. The CEO is hilarious and we shoot the shit and ask him an army of questions (LEAH IS THE BEST, she is so great to apartment hunt with, seriously, she thinks of everything). So we go to another place we had been excited about before but ended up not loving it because they raised the price and it smells like DOG. Sooooo we decide to just fill out the app and drop it off for the first place, the one we loved! We drop it off and are SUPER excitey pants about it. KNOCK ON WOOD WE GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So then Leah takes me home and Chris and I realize that we have concert tickets for that night, lol woops. So we go to see Albert Hammond Jr. (guitarist of The Strokes!!!!!!) at U Street Music Hall!!!!!!!! It was cool to see him up close but it was WAY. TOO. LOUD. damn I sustained serious ear damage. Plus AHJ didn't blow my socks off and he didn't play any Strokes songs! Though he was good and it was really cool to see such greatness (he was behind all of the Strokes songs being amazing basically) in person and so close.

SO YEAH that's me :) I love you all so much and when Leah and I live together you can come stay with us anytime (forever).

Happy Tuesday loves!

Oof Kaity so sorry they're loading the work on like that! Glad you have an ally though! Hopefully she'll be lots of fun!
Arielita go running champion! I cannot WAIT for you and Leah to get a place - my fingers are beyond crossed for the one from this weekend! And congrats to Chris on the job!

Speaking of Chris-es, my weekend was a fantastic escape from reality with mine! We went to San Antonio and stayed in two different Westins like a princess- think champagne on the king bed and a bathroom bigger than my room! Heaven.
The second day was my surprise- I planned this trail ride with a guide named- for real- "Cowboy Willie". He was everything you expect, giant mustache, kept telling us in his Texan accent all about how god flooded the world and that's why he's found seashells in the hill country and if were not livin right he'll do it again (all those plate tectonics- giant lie ) it was hilarious.
Anyway lots of good lounging and talking and it's made it very hard to be at school now!
If you're around DC/NYC this winter you might meet my Christopher!

Loves y'all

MARHABAN, HABIBAAT!!

KAITY gah work stress crazy I can't even imagine but I'm sure you can handle it cause you're superwoman. By the end of your time there, you'll be such a pro running the show (apparently I'm Dr Seuss today).
Ariel can't wait to "cutefy the shiz out of our new place" and my fingers are perpetually crossed.
COURTENAY you FANCY, huh?! I also really want to go on a trail ride--definitely something I'll keep in mind for my first visit to Texas.

Thursday I handed out all the candy with grandma. Saw some of the cutest trick-or-treaters (highlight was three toddlers in a wagon: Dorothy, the Lion, and the Scarecrow) and some of the oldest, sketchiest kids (like late teens, not dressed up at all, super rude).
Friday went back to Baltimore to go out for Halloween. Dressed up as Princess Leia, finally rebelling against the fact that I hate it when people mispronounce my name all the time and call me "lay-ah." I get good and shwastey and it is a lovely time.
Saturday get my toenails did, buy some work shoes at DSW (which now I think I'm gonna return). Then off to Arlington to hang out with Jale for a quiet night in! We have the best time drinking wine & talking about the Camino and life. Unfortunately at 3AM I get SUPER food poisoning sick and am up the rest of the night. Horrible. Jale was SUCH a star for helping me through it!
Sunday was recovery day: apartment hunt with Ariel (she already told you that bit) and lazy watching of the Ravens game with Grandma and in bed by 8 (and slept til 630AM).

COME VISIT US WHEN OUR APARTMENT IS ALL FIXED UP YAY

Ran a few errands and did chores, spoke to the sister whose phone got stolen so she had an interesting weekend. Sunday did some work and caught up with new projects - so excited got assigned a few more, the next month shall be hell but it shall be interesting - been learning new statistical analysis tools which is blowing my mind but at least work is never boring :)

hello everyone!!!

kaity - Getting slammed at work is never fun, but if anyone can take it in stride and just general ballerness, it's you. so keep killin it. love you
ariel - make out sessions in the stairwell, eh? gurl, you baad. but dont stop. i love it. and YAAAAY for apartments!!!
courtenay - that trail ride sounds fantastic! hahaha! a rough sketch of Cowboy Willie would be appreciated.
sadie - ive heard the same about Enders Game. but im still going to go see it. and thanks for the birthday shout out!! woo 24!!

Thursday: Hallo-frickin-ween! i love this day. COSTUUUMES! Work was dumb with old people who dont dress up or do anything fun. All we had were your nasty ass pumpkin shaped sugar cookies with orange sprinkles from Kroger. really, work? try a little harder. or not, you know. just continue to be a gray box of saddness and computer noises. anyway, after work, my day picked up. went home and changed into my new Luke Skywalker costume. My roommate dressed up as Han Solo. She had also gone to Target to get us a lightsaber and a blaster (Han shot first). We looked great. We handed out candy for a bit before heading out to bars to meet friends. Bars were fun and drunken, and I kept hitting everyone with my lightsaber and trying to use the Force on people. Unfortuantely, im not much the Jedi master.

Friday: Left work early to catch a flight to CHARLOTTESVILLE!!!!!!!!!!! My sister was having a Halloween party at her apartment that night, so I went straight there. Elize had decided a while ago to dress up as the Tardis, and so I was naturally the Doctor (the 11th). We looked awesome! but no one really got who we were. buuut the win for the costume of the evening went to one of Elizes co-workers who dressed up as those air guys that are outside car washes. This: http://9gag.com/gag/aRQ7vV2. He would stand in the middle of the room and flail his arms and droop his body all over. It was histerical! We went out to bars on the Downtown mall, and one hd a dance party going. He was a hit. he would just bobble out to the middle of the floor and just dance like that. hahahaha!!! oh my god so funny. OH! Ariel, i saw Jeff Park at the dance party, too! Later we got meat pies from this vendor on the mall, and apparently I asked the vendor if there were humans in them. Fortunately, we dont have a Sweeney Todd in town, so the meat pies were human-free!

Saturday: slept in for a bit, and then chilled on the porch chatting with Elize and her roommate. around 1 we headed over to Scotts stadium to meet up with the family for a tailgate! It's my Grandfather's 80th birthday, so the whole family came in for the weekend. yay family time. we went into the game for a bit. It was weird being back and feeling like I should run into all my old friends, but knowing they wouldnt be there anymore. but i did run into Ian Cathcart (this was a weekend of running into all of Ariels old hook-ups! haha!) All the cousins left the game after the 1st quarter (we were already losing horribly. surprise surprise).  We walked through grounds and down the corner (got Dumplings!) and then down S. main back to Elizes apartment. It was a long walk, but it was absolutely GORGEOUS weather. and the leaves were soo pretty. so i didnt mind in the slightest. the rest of the family met up at Elizes once the game was over and we had Chili and happy family times. then the parents all left and the cousins played Cards Against Humanity together (barriers were broken, and now there's no going back. I can no longer ignore that my younger cousins know about popping boners, "Me time", and Harry Potter erotica). Cousin slumber party that night with everyone sleeping on anything slightly coushy on the floor.

Sunday: Cousins woke up and go got breakfast on the mall. The parents came and gathered us up, and we all drove out to Grave's Mountain Lodge for lunch. It's a beautiful drive! all the pretty leaves!!!! aaaahhh FAAALLLL!!!! we have a lovely time, and the cousins discussed what all our jobs would be if we were on a pirate ship. I'm the navigator. with all the star charts and protractors and maths. After lunch I had to drive back to Richmond to catch my flight. Got back to memphis around 9 and basically went stright to bed.

love you guys!!

Sarah, what I wouldn't give to be in Charlottesville in the Fall!! Ben and I made dumplings last week and were sad that they're not as good as Marco & Luca.
Happy birthday to you!!

And I am so jeall-o about Courtenay's ride with Cowboy Willie. I second the need for a sketch.

You all have such wonderful lives! I miss you so much!!
