Hello,

I recently started to use apt-cyg to install packages from Cygwin and Cygwin Ports.

I noticed that apt-cyg always seems to work against the default Cygwin mirror or an explicitly specified mirror (which is how Iinstalled Cygwin Ports packages). But when the package from Ports has dependencies that are in main Cygwin then the installation will fail and those packages have to be installed explicitly from main Cygwin.

I wonder if I just missed something or if this is a known issue or even a design choice.

I also noticed an "apt-cyg-multi" project (http://code.google.com/p/apt-cyg-multi/) that claims to have fixed this limitation. I have not tried it but briefly looked at its code which seemed quite messy and a lot different from the current apt-cyg.

So I guess I am wondering if there is any chance that "cross-repo" support might be added to apt-cyg?
Would it require a lot of changes?

Thanks
Oliver

Oh, I forgot to say that I love the apt-cyg tool. I use Debian at home, but have to use Windows at work and Cygwin, Cygwin Ports and apt-cyg make this so much more pleasant. Thanks to you for developing this great script!
