Hi,

I'm running APRX 2.07 on Linux i386. On my aprx-rf.log file there are lots of packets being received, yet only a few show on my aprs.fi log. What could be the reason? I expect more packets to show on my APRS.fi details.

This is my APRS.fi profile:

This is (part of) my aprx-rf.log:

This is my aprx.conf file:

Thanks,

The reason is that the packages you receive are often received by other digi's/igates first or at the same time, so they will have the reports on their statistics.

Hi Alejandro.  The first IGate to get the packet to the APRS-IS is the one that gets shown on aprs.fi.  The reports from other IGates that send it are discarded because of "dupe" (duplicate) checking.  Using aprs.fi as a "scoreboard" for your network analysis will just cause you grief.  I see many IGates in your area, and CX4AE in Uruguay was first in for the packet of LU5DWK-9 in Argentina!

Take a look at the aprs.fi map for my Digi/IGate KJ4AJP-5:  It is a 40W radio on a 76 meter high tower with a DB224E antenna, and connected to the fiber-optic internet of a University.  Still, little home IGates on consumer internet connections and antennas only 10 meters high will often beat me in the race to be first.

Your IGate is probably doing fine, it just has a lot of competition!
