CAT control over Bluetooth TNC on VGC VR-N76/Btech UV-PRO

The latest version of the firmware for these HTs supports CAT control via the Bluetooth TNC, which is pretty spiffy and works great in RadioMail. It would be cool if you could do this in aprs.fi. Documentation on how they do it here:

Would you mind explaining what would be the desired functionality in
aprs.fi?

What should aprs.fi do with the control codes? When, why, and what would
you (as an user) want to do with them in aprs.fi?

What this would accomplish is not merely using the audio stream and PTT off the TNC, but would switch the radio from the existing mode to full CAT control. Example using Radiomail:

The software controls not just the PTT but the tuning, preventing the radio from TX on an incorrect frequency that happens to be selected. There's a fork of APRSDroid that's doing this already.

Hi,

Could you please describe, with as much detail as possible, how exactly
would you like the app to control the radio? Preferably, provide a
step-by-step description of what you, as an user, would do in the app
first, and what the application would then do to control the radio.

This is important for me, because I do not immediately see why and how
this would be useful, and what settings should the application change in
the radio, when, and why. I just set the radio on the APRS channel and off
I go, it seems to work!

I don't have Radiomail, and the twitter post does not show what the app
does.
