What do these colors on the map mean?

looks like they are one for each Tracker/Station.


are they the same type of tracker? both AFSK/VHF APRS? or LORA APRS? or TCPIP/4G APRS?

I don't think there is any meaning, it changes for each station appearing.  A search for "line color" in the group finds several references.

I could be that Randy was running aprsdroid on his phone, which would rather defeat my purpose of asking him to enable GPS and APRS on his radio as I wanted to get an idea of the range of my digipeater/igate. I fear that the blue may be what my digi's range is and the green what his phone is sending directly to aprs-is.

They're just lines drawn between the positions received by aprs.fi. The
colour is random from a pool of colours; in the aprs.fi iOS app you can
tap the station repeatedly to change the line colour. In the aprs.fi
web site you can reassign colours in Settings but not change which of the
5 colours each station gets unfortunately.
