Hi,
The app does save the filter settings. For proof:
1. Adjust filter settings according to taste
2. Power off the phone (iPhone Settings -> General -> Shut down)
3. Power on the phone again
4. Open the
aprs.fi app, observe filters still being set as previously
However, if you choose to delete the application state restoration file,
by killing the application manually, the application's state will not be
retained. This is a feature: if the application state would be somehow
faulty and it would fail to open with the saved state, there would be no
way to recover from there. In this case the manual state restartion
deletion would help you get out.
It happened to
aprs.fi once: there was a way for an user to accidentally
navigate to a screen where there was no "back" button at all. When the
user would re-open the app, even after a reboot of the phone, the app
would restore its state (filters, tracked stations, and previously shown
view) and go back to that same screen. The way to recover from here was to
delete the broken state file: go to the "task manager" view and swipe
aprs.fi up. This is what that feature is for.
