There are no icons displayed on the aprs.fi maps. Every object has a
blank white square next to the callsign. This happens in Firefox and
IE8 and I have cleared all cookies and histories but still the same.
I also see red crosses on Google Earth if I click the view in GE kml
link in the APRS.fi window.
I'm using XP Home over a corporate network. I first noticed this
yesterday.
Thanks a lot,
Paul
The icons should now work in google earth, the symbol URL was broken. I
need to add some more tests to validate the KML interface after changes.
But this is more strange:

I suppose Google Earth works for you now?
Is the "normal" http://aprs.fi/ map (non-google-earth) still broken? It
works fine for me on IE6-IE7-IE8, Firefox 3.0 and 3.5, Opera and Chrome,
Windows XP and Linux. And it works on our corporate network too.
Can you try without the corporate network, on a "normal" consumer internet
line?
I made a little optimisation to the symbol image serving a couple days
back, and accidentally broke the KML interface. The normal map symbols
were changed too, but they shouldn't be broken like that.

However I am not getting the white square problem at my home computer
so suspect it is to do with a change on the network firewalls at work.
I'll be very keen to check when I get back though as I am taking my
VX-8 with me and will want to see my journey recorded.
Look out for packets from M1PWT-7 and MM1PWT-7 11th to 15th April.
Many thanks,
Paul

If the problem persists, please take a screen shot. With the IE window
active, Press Alt + PrintScrn and then paste the image (Shift-Ins) to a
graphics program and save it as a PNG image, and post it here or upload
it on the web somewhere. You can also mail it to me off-list.
