Is the KML function working correctly on the aprs.fi website?  I'm trying to create a KML file to use in Google Earth to track the lead pace and rear sweep vehicles for an upcoming half marathon my club is supporting.  I'm running Windows 11 with Chrome and have Google Earth Pro installed on my computer.  Every time I hit the KML link in aprs.fi it does nothing.  I don't get anything in Google Earth or no file to even download to put in Google Earth.

Any help would be appreciated.

I was looking in the Google Chrome Developer Tools Console.  When clicking on "Google Earth KLM" in the Console it catches the following exception "

Uncaught ReferenceError: goto_kml is not defined at HTMLAnchorElement.onclick ((index):259:42)". Hopefully there are some developers moderating that can look into this.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott, I have been looking for the same thing.  A KML file could be passed as a parameter in the aprs.fi command line when google maps was the basis for aprs.fi.  That has not worked for me with the OSM maps.  73, KC2NM

Hi,

It was certainly broken when aprs.fi is in Leaflet mode.

I've fixed the bug now, please reload aprs.fi and it should work again.

Right, KML loading is not currently available in the Leaflet mode. There
are a couple of older threads about it. It'll be back when/if I switch
back to Google Maps, or implement KML loading for Leaflet. Sorry!

There have been a few replies to this question, claiming "KML works", but
they have actually been about a different feature, the KML button which
allows loading APRS data in Google Earth using a KML URL provided by
aprs.fi. I've deleted the incorrect answers.

I really hope we have a solution soon, I’ve relied on this to support as a volunteer for races, and other events that are important for our community.
I appreciate all of the hard work that you and the team put into APRS.fi. Thank you
