Hello to everybody!
I'm wondering if there is a way to make some wrong SSIDs disappear
from the front end, such as those introduced by mistake on initial
testing.

Thank you,

Basically, no. They'll disappear after 1 year.

It would be easy for me to add a method for you to delete data, but then
it would be very easy for everyone else to delete your data, too. Or for
you to delete someone else's data. That wouldn't be good. aprs.fi quite
honestly records everything that happens on the APRS-IS, including the
misconfigurations, and even everything bad that the occasional p1rates do
on the APRS channel.

You can prevent data to be shown on aprs.fi during testing or while
mistakes are being made, but you need to know that in advance. :) Just add
NOGATE or RFONLY in the end of the digipeater path. Please see "How can I
prevent my data from being displayed on this site?" in the FAQ
(http://aprs.fi/page/faq).

The basic problem is that there's no good way for aprs.fi to tell which
web site user owns which callsign.

At this point someone will usually suggest either using a callbook lookup,
but that doesn't help since anyone can do the same callbook lookups, and
possibly edit other people's qrz.com data.

Someone will also suggest that aprs.fi could give a web user a small
random authentication string, which the user would then configure on the
tracker, ans transmit it a few times to indicate that he's in possession
of that APRS tracker. That doesn't really prove anything either, just that
the user is in possession of any APRS tracker that can be configured to
use any callsign. He also might have an amateur license, but maybe not.
But maybe that sort of test is good enough to enable things like APRS
messaging or item/object injection through aprs.fi for him, since he could
do it on the radio channel as well, and allowing it on aprs.fi for him
would do no additional harm.
