APRS-IS gating issue / Missing stations on aprs.fi map in São Paulo area (GG66tm)

Dear Hessu / aprs.fi support team,

I hope this email finds you well.

I am writing to report a data synchronization or gating issue on the aprs.fi platform regarding some stations in the São Paulo region, Brazil (Grid: GG66tm).

Lately, several local stations and packets that successfully upload to the APRS-IS core network are appearing on alternative servers (such as aprs.to), but they are completely missing from the aprs.fi map and database.

To help illustrate the issue, I have attached a screenshot of the aprs.fi map taken at the exact time these stations were actively beaconing and visible on other APRS-IS maps.

It seems like there might be a filtering issue, a temporary upstream server desync, or an accidental block on specific IGates/servers feeding this region to your database.

Hi,

View here in Finland is, at least at the moment, very similar between the two services.

Your aprs.fi screenshot however does show what I believe to be a loading indicator. Have you checked what your browser's developer tools say?

Also, If I've understood correctly, aprs.fi has Cloudflare in front, which may or may not be related to what you're observing.

Now getting similar results here, I think. Many stations appearing in aprs.to are missing from aprs.fi. Both screenshots are with a 3h window.

Another note,

If I look with a 24h window, many more stations are appearing in aprs.fi. Which could(?) indicate something going wrong, perhaps periodically, with whatever method those intermittently missing stations are sending packets to APRS-IS.

Or something else going wrong. Anyway, looking at the raw feed shows packets coming in mostly from T2* servers and DMR hotspots (below). I don't know how those hotspot packets end up in APRS-IS.
