Hello,

I am asking for help with APRS please. We have a repeater called GB7AC in Scotland but for some reason it is shown on the APRS.FI map as GB7EA. Can anyone tell me how to change it to GB7AC? I am totally stuck with this so any help appreciated.

Howdy,

I'd start by looking at the raw data in https://aprs.fi/?c=raw&call=GB7EA:

2023-12-12 12:48:42 EET: GB7EA>APBM1S,TCPIP*,qAS,HA3KZ-14:@121048z5550.63N/00452.99WrPHG5400This is the GB7EA repeater network connected & on test in to an RF dummy load  439.3750/430.3750 CC1

2023-12-12 13:19:35 EET: GB7EA>APBM1S,TCPIP*,qAS,HA3KZ-14:@121119z5550.63N/00452.99WrPHG5400This is the GB7EA repeater network connected & on test in to an RF dummy load  439.3750/430.3750 CC1

Also it looks like GB7AC has not sent any updates: https://aprs.fi/info/w/5119100344

Was the configuration copypasted from somewhere?

GB7EA seems to be injected from a Brandmeister system,
https://aprs.fi/info/GB7EA says "Device: R3ABM: BrandMeister DMR".

aprs.fi just simply displays what it receives from the APRS-IS network,
and the data seems to be sent by a DMR repeater system. I'm not aware of
the specifics of how it is configured. Please post follow-up questions to
a forum discussing the DMR software you're using on the repater.

(I'm asking for a friend.)
The F1ZYG-3 digipeater is being heard by other stations (or it would not appear on the maps).  But aprs.fi does not show it being heard by any station.
What did we do wrong?

Thanks,

Looking at your info on aprs.fi it doesn’t look like you are sending data to APRS-IS and are only being heard on the radio.

Email me off list if you want to compare direwolf configs

But even being heard just on the radio, and eventually making it to the APRS-IS system should have a "heard" by station.  It is heard most by F4ELU, which is an IGate.  So it is being heard, just not logged as heard.
It's odd.  F1ZYG-3 seems to be working fine, and it does hear stations first.

https://aprs.fi/info/F1ZYG-3 - It is transmitting with a path of
WIDE2-1. aprs.fi cannot know if it was originally transmitted with a path
of WIDE2-2 or WIDE2-1. It might have been transmitted with
WIDE2-2 and digipeated by one digipeater (some of which don't insert their
callsigns in the path like they should), so aprs.fi won't give "heard"
credits to the igates which appear in the path after that.

Using a WIDE1-1 or WIDE2-2 path helps.

Thank you. That’s a simple one.
