Hello group,
I have been plotting AIS on aprs.fi for a few years using the Windows10 platform and ShipPlotter COAA, but this only happens when the Desktop is on.
The AIS source comes from the Raspberry 24x7 which sends to other apps with fixed TCP ports.
I would like to use JSON on this Raspberry, could anyone give me a source to build this?

Hi Marco,
if you are a bit familiar with python, I can give you the script I'm using to collect AIS data from a serial port and send them to aprs.fi, marinetraffic et.al.

Hi all,

Not monitoring AIS here (yet!), but if I was planning to do so, I'd start by looking at something like this: https://github.com/sdr-enthusiasts/docker-shipfeeder

Following ticket suggests it works with serial devices, too: https://github.com/sdr-enthusiasts/docker-shipfeeder/issues/56#issuecomment-2441983825

    My two cents,

Thank you my friend, yes I can solve it, python3 has other apps running on the same raspberry.

When I was feeding AIS data to aprs.fi I used to run rtl_ais (downloaded from github) to receive and decode the AIS data and output it to a virtual streaming audio file or "named pipe" then ran gnu_ais (installed from Debian repositories using apt) to read from that virtual audio file and ship it to aprs.fi.
