Question about APRS.fi API

I've read the API documentation but do not see any mention of receiving data other than current location.  Does anyone know how to receive the past 24 or 48 hour position data via the API?

The API does not provide access to previous positions. If you need a
stream of APRS data for archival, it's best to connect to the APRS-IS and
collect the data from the source instead of going via aprs.fi. You can set
a filter to receive packets sent by specific callsigns.

Thanks for confirming APRS.fi API does not provide historical data...

I've looked over the APRS-IS API and on first review, it does not provide historical data either.

Correct, the APRS-IS does not provide historical data, but you can receive
the stream and collect a database of your own if necessary, and query your
database.

I'm not sure if there are any public APIs out there for querying past
positions. Those have been abused in the past, and private ones have been
abused as well, so I'm not going to set one up here.
