Hello,
I have an idea for a service (similar to SMSGTE), and I am learning about APRS-IS backend stuff so that I can approach the implementation in the appropriate way.
I will want to keep track of the position reports of all of my active "users", and so I could use the b/ "buddy list" filter to make sure I am getting info that they are posting to APRS. But, I think there must be a limit, either explicitly, or effectively to the amount of calls that I can pass to the server there. What might that number be? I don't know how many users I would have, but am designing for somewhere around 100-200 that I would need to be tracking at once.
Should I just plan on taking an unfiltered dump of everything from APRS-IS, and doing filtering on my side?
Beyond that question, which relates directly to the aprsc implementation, so felt was appropriate here, I have some more general "best practices" questions, is the aprssig list at tapr the best place to try those?
Thanks,
David
