Steve,

When I saw this presented at JavaOne, I thought it would fit well with
two of my needs. One that utilizes the Rally back end, and one that
doesn't, but does require the Kanban capabilities.

The first is easy enough (I've already registered with Rally and am
getting started tonight), but for my second need, I must tweak the
system to handle my custom data, some special local storage and an
automated email reader.

Can you recommend a path through the code (or at least the major
pitfalls) for isolating and divorcing the back-end Rally Agile
services from the front-end UI (such that a local database can be
substituted)?

For divorcing the code, I would start with the model package. In
particular, a lot of the heavy lifting is done in the loadStories method
of the Release class.
