How can I uninstall AppTrap from my computer

Hoa can I unistall AppTrap From My Apple Computer. I am currently
running OSX Lion and am a new Apple computer user

The full instructions to uninstall AppTrap are in the About tab in the preference pane.

The gist of it is:

1. If AppTrap is running, stop it by pressing the Stop AppTrap button in the General tab of the preference pane.

2. Click on Show All in System Preferences.

3. Right-click on AppTrap and click Remove "AppTrap" Preference Pane.

4. In the Finder, go to the Library folder inside of your Home folder. The Library folder is hidden on Lion, but you can easily get to it by going to Go > Go to Folder... and typing in ~/Library

5. Go to the Preferences folder and move se.konstochvanligasaker.AppTrap.plist and se.konstochvanligasaker.AppTrap.prefpanel.plist to the trash.

There ya' go. :)

I've removed the AppTrap app. But I can't find the support files se.konstochvanligasaker.AppTrap.plist and se.konstochvanligasaker.AppTrap.prefpanel.plist) in any locations and I serached for it and I didn't find it. what can I do?

I'm on 10.8.5. My Machine slowed to a crawl as soon as I installed apptrap. Those preference files dont exist, (I'm very techy, so no I am not looking in the wrong place) and my machine is still slow after removing the preference pane. Can you please post the correct files to look for? I need it gone. I do post production, and my mac is unusable at the moment.

You probably still need to stop the background process. Just search for AppTrap in activity monitor and quit it from there.

Installing, upgrading and uninstalling

Installing is very easy, and if you're reading this you've probably already dealt with it yourself. Upgrading follows the same pattern, just double-click the new AppTrap on its disk image, and you'll eventually be asked if you want to replace the old one. After that you also need to restart the actual application, by stopping and then starting AppTrap from its preference pane.

Uninstalling is not done automatically; ah the irony! To uninstall AppTrap, launch System Preferences, control-click the AppTrap item and choose "Remove “AppTrap” Preference Pane". Then you'll have to remove the preference files manually. They are located in <Home>/Library/Preferences/ and are named se.KumaranVijayan.AppTrap.plist and se.KumaranVijayan.AppTrap.prefpanel.plist. On 10.7 there are additional files named se.KumaranVijayan.AppTrap.plist.lockfile and se.KumaranVijayan.AppTrap.prefpanel.plist.lockfile. One fine day, AppTrap will uninstall automatically.

and on 10.7 onwards

@Kumaran - thank you for keeping the App going after it was abandoned.  I’ve relied on it since it came out until I uninstalled it today when I finally upgraded to Apple Silicon.  Thank you!
