Changing Student Name in Google Classroom

A student in our school changed their last name recently.  As an admin, I need to create change his profile over to his name AND email address. By creating a new email address, is there anything I would need to change in Google Classroom?

Just change the existing name and email address. Google is ill automatically create an alias with old name and will automatically update everywhere.

The information the Aries portal thing updated her teachers are updated but the Google classroom however has not updated ! Her school email and display name is the OLD OneZl. We’re  forced to use this online system and  it’s really embarrassing and discouraging to see that last name still there after I legally changed I have emailed almost every person and every department try to fix this the superintendent and the principal of the school some IT people I can’t to get a response and I definitely cannot contact google !!! I will Disenroll her from the school if I have to but I hope that I don’t need to do all that please help

This is grounds for a complaint under FERPA, they must correct the record or provide a reason within 45 day of your request

How!? The school did change her last name the teachers all have her new name but the Google classrooms did not change . We are submitting and doing work under her old last name I’m getting zero responses from anybody from the IT department in school or the district I thought maybe Google could do it?

Also I thought maybe her work doesn’t count ? It’s not the right name...

her name was suddenly changed finally however there’s only one little problem . she’s not displayed on the list of people you know where it says” stream “ “ classwork “ and “people “ in the classroom but that’s no Problem thank you guys for the help and advice
