Powerpoints not Displaying in Google Classroom

Our school has been with Google for 5 years now. We have warned the teachers to convert all their Powerpoints to Google Slides for years. Some have not and are now experiencing the following issue:

- Uploaded a Powerpoint and/or PDF files to Google Classroom

- When students bring up the Powerpoint or PDF, they get the first page, but then get an error that there was an error loading the rest of the document(s)

However, when they convert that same powerpoint to a Google Slide, the students can see all the pages.

This literally happened within the last 24 hours. The students were able to see the Powerpoints yesterday just fine.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Before I send a mass email out to my teachers telling them Google is forcing them to convert their PPT, I want to confirm if other people are experiencing this same issue.  I am researching further if this is happening for PDFs as well.

I don't have an answer, but if it just started yesterday, perhaps it's related to yesterday's update to Slides, which now gives us access to Add-ons.
