Job Description :

This role will assist in the effort to build out the Compliance Data Governance program including the development and maintenance of Compliance related Metadata and Data Lineage. This role may oversee data governance and integrity analysts. Maintains all business definitions and Compliance usage for all data used from source systems to Compliance related applications and MIS reporting. Completes data integrity definitions, metrics and testing of Compliance critical data elements. Will participate in and build out the Compliance Data Governance Council.

Impact on Business:

*Provides oversight to an executes the Compliance Data Governance Policy. Will build out and maintain a Compliance Metadata Repository and Data Lineage monitoring program. Will execute projects that include requesting, profiling, extracting, analyzing, testing and reviewing data; developing formal reporting or ad hoc analysis of key categorical and transactional data

*Establishes data quality measurements and may reviews data quality to ensure reports and analysis are meaningful and accurate; will initiate technology projects and see them through execution where applicable to resolve data quality issues

***KEYS: Metadata experience & Data Governance Experience

Customers / Stakeholders

*Maintains business definitions and Compliance usage for all data used for Compliance from source system to Compliance Operational Data Stores to MIS reporting (****COMPLIANCE BACKGROUND REQUIRED)
*Manage and support tool and application development for General Compliance

Leadership & Teamwork

*Lead and develop an effective team through communication, performance management, development plans and reward/recognition practices
*Lead business and data analysis for Compliance Systems, Technology and Data Integrity projects to include authoring data requirements, reviewing key technical documentation and documenting data usage for all technology projects
* Support team relative to tactical and strategic planning efforts within a dynamic regulatory environment
*Manage tasks team members for assigned projects. Update management on project and resource successes, problems, and concerns
*Coordinate project data issue identification, escalation, and resolution, as appropriate
* Provide technical direction and guidance to less experienced personnel to include oversight of tasks and deliverables on a project by project basis
****REQUIRED: Research, Documentation, Facilitation, working with technical teams, interfacing with multiple projects and lines of business

Operational Effectiveness & Control

*Assist in the design, testing of data related to the implementation of new and existing Compliance systems and MIS reporting
*Communicate effectively to different audiences, including both business and technical parties
*Develop and maintain a current knowledge of industry Data Governance initiatives and best practices. Develop general awareness of Compliance regulatory changes affecting system development projects and ensure all Compliance initiatives remain compliant from a Data Governance perspective
*Pro-Actively assisting management in identifying and containing compliance risk, monitoring, reporting, and certification, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators

Major Challenges

*Data Governance has not been strategically implemented to date in Compliance or HNAH
*Ability to influence large number of stakeholders across multiple functions and lines of business

Role Context

*Work with immediate management to implement data governance program and data integrity initiatives within Compliance organization. Has an advisory and influencing role outside of Compliance

Management of Risk

*Ensure employees apply compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues

Observation of Internal Controls

*Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
*To implement the Group compliance policy locally by containing compliance risk in liason with the Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Office, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators
