Is there anyway to turn off (or minimize) all the verbage associated with each traffic?

There is the S,M, L toggle on the bottom right which will filter the traffic based on distance and altitude difference. Then if you want auditory alerts turned off there is a speaker symbol on the bottom left.

Of note, it looks like you have to be connected to an ADSB device for the s m l icon to be shown as that does not appear on my iphone right now, but I have seen it before.

It doesn't have to be connected, but the traffic layer needs to be turned on. Of course no traffic will show if not connected to a ads-b in device.
