Tim,
No you cannot upload flight plans to the IFD (or any GPS Navigator)
from AvareX.
I've been flying behind the IFD440 for about 5 yrs now primarily in
the Northeast where direct to is almost unheard of. I am almost
always within the NY, Boston, DC, and Philadelphia airspaces which
still rely on navaids (many don't exist any more) and I have never
found it a burden to program the IFD. As a matter of fact once I
get my clearance I program the IFD first and then as time permits
I'll program the tablet with the route, usually when waiting for my
release but sometimes after I depart. Of course during my flight I
get the occasional "I have an amendment to your route" again the
change for me goes on paper and then programmed in the IFD, when
time permits I may update the tablet.
One thing that I do wish AvareX would do would trigger the ADS-B out
data telemetry from the the IFD, this needs to be done every time
you turn on the IFD radio. It is pretty simple to you, you need to
send the string "AVISDK" to UDP port 5686 of the IFD. There are
several programs that can be used to do this, the one I use is "UDP
Sender / Receiver".
I don't know if you are a programmer, but if you are, I do have
Avidyne's SDK if you are interesting in taking a look.

Hello. I am new to the group. Is there an easy way
to transfer a flight plan from AvareX to Avadyne IFD 440?
