AvareX update - IMPORTANT

I have pushed version 0.0.13 to the various App stores.

Starting with Version 0.0.13 AvareX will begin using a new format for the charts.  The big change will be for all of the VFR charts, Chart Supplement, and IFR plates.  Instead of downloading individual sectionals (eg New York, Detroit, Washington, etc) you will download the charts for Northeast, East central, South East, etc, the alignment should match closely to the chart supplements. (see below for the chart areas).

This change drastically reduced the amount of both manual intervention and the computing time required to create the chart images.

Although the current cycle charts should continue to work fine with AvareX the following will not work until you re-download the chart images.

1) Chart Supplement images will not function
2) Taxi diagrams will not be Geo-referenced
3) Approach plates will not be Geo-referenced

In order to get the Geo-referencing and chart supplement you must re-download the chart supplement and approach plates.

The same change is coming to the legacy Avare app soon, however the release date hasn't been solidified yet.

wdyt about having a single download setting for each region? This way, you don't need to individually pick sectional + tac + plates + CSUP + etc for your chosen region(s)

Good idea. Legacy app won't do it because it has other types of charts that can't be easily split into regions.

I've been checking the Apple App Store all week to update my iPad for AvareX version 0.0.0.13. It is only showing 0.0.12 as available. Is there a delay after a push before the new version shows up?

I'm seeing the same thing for Windows

Version 13 has not shown up yet on the Microsoft Store

Also, version 12 updated, but crashes/closes a couple seconds after opening on Windows

If you see crash, delete all of the app data. I am trying to find if a package is corrupting the OSM cache data. Also if it works, leave OSM off.

I'm getting the same crash now under Windows 11. Unlike when it was crashing a few weeks ago, I don't even see anything for AvareX in my AppData now, so there's nothing to delete. Uninstalling & reinstalling AvareX doesn't fix the crash either.

Just deleted all data, installed ver .13 on my Windows 11 machine for the Microsoft Store and it still crashes.  Next ideas?

Version 14 has also been pushed to the Google PlayStore and the Snap store (Linux).  Google may take a little before it shows available as it is still being processed.

AvareX v14 still crashes for me under Windows 11, even after uninstalling and reinstalling. I do not see any Appdata associated with it, in either Roaming or Local.

Might have to disable some features and see if it works. Can you try a build I send you ?

Removed data, repaired the app, started the app, it is now working, and on .15+15 version.

The database came with the new upgraded app.  

Works correctly now.

I've deleted data, uninstalled, reinstalled, and my traffic layer is disabled, but AvareX v15 on Windows 11 still crashes for me a second or two after it displays the world map.

The issue is found. Temporary solution is to disable audible traffic alerts for windows. Probably something wrong with windows audio player library for flutter. Will publish a build soon for trying.
