The app/dep frequencies for the old TRSA airspace (now Class D with radar)is not listed in the AF/D's. They are listed on the Tower Freq Tab of the sectional chart. Can this be added to Avare? IE KYNG, KHTS

Hi Bob.
Can you confirm on the FAA site that it exists on it? If the answer is yes, try and re download the A/FD and let us know the result. TV

This is missing on Avare. This chart is on all Sectionals. Not all of these frequencies are in the A/FD.

Hi Bob.
Others will give more details but at this stage, without adding a lot of work having to scan that section, and storage in the devices, it will likely not be added, unless a lot of users ask for it and there are sufficient resources to implement it?
Can you supplement the missing information with your Plate information?

Where would you like to see that information added to, the charts, separate item etc.?

Can you be more specific what exactly you are trying to use?
Most of the time there is a frequency that is listed in the, Chart, A/FD and or the plates that will get you what you need. TV

Hi Bob,

Both of the examples you cited, KHTS and KYNG, have the correct tower frequencies listed in the A/FD. (that is, the tower frequency on the tab of the sectional)  So I'm confused about what you are not finding.

It's not the tower frequencies that Bob is referring to, its the Approach/Departure Control Frequencies.  Having said that, in both of those examples (KHTS and KYNG), there are (Magenta colored) Approach Frequency boxes on the sectional charts near those two airports.  Tune in those frequencies, contact approach, and tell them your location.  If you happen to be in an adjacent sector, they will provide you the correct frequency.  If you still would prefer the list of all approach frequencies that appear on paper charts for flight planning purposes, skyvector.com has those electronically (but only available with an internet connection, not offline).

Have you Downloaded the correct FAA A/FD file in Avare for the KYNG and
KHTS (I guess "A/FD NC" and maybe NE) regions, and selected the correct
one by tapping the A/FD button at the top of the screen? Avare's
default A/FD screen is just an abbreviated text list of data pulled from
that, and intended only as a quick reference.

The actual complete FAA image file in those "NC NE" downloads, is the
official tiny text we used to struggle reading in paper books. I like
that Avare automatically takes me to the correct "page" in that one
based on the current Destination, and that I can zoom it big enough to
read in flight. But typically I just have Approach frequency and
anything else I want written on my knee pad before flight, so I can stay
in Map mode with maybe a glance at Avare's quick greatly abbreviated
(and easily readable) text list.
