On both my Samsung S6 & S9 I cannot use the program. A screen comes up saying I must allow location permission or Avare will not run.
It already had location permission while app in use. I have toggled the location access permission off and on and rebooted but cannot get past the white screen that says I must provide location access.
Some other programs have Location Access all the time, which I would grant to Avare, but the only 2 options are Allow when it use, or Deny.

Try this, go to settings on your device (not inside Avare), by dragging down from the top of the screen, choose the gear icon, then scroll down to "Apps" and then choose Avare from within the Apps menu option, under allowed permissions make sure that location is allowed, next select Location and make sure have "allow only while using the app" and that "use precise location" is enabled.

Same story here (Samsung tablet).  I don't think it's a location permission issue, but rather a nearby devices/BT permission issue.  The message that comes up when I launch Avare says it needs both, but when I open the app permission settings from within the Android app settings as suggested above, only location and storage permissions are shown.  This just started happening since the update yesterday (5/13/22).  Oddly enough, the What's new section of the update says, "Bluetooth app stop fix."

Same issue here. Samsung tablet S6. All permissions enabled.

I agree with jphrke. This problem appeared - for me - following the 10.1.3 update and seems to be due to lack of "nearby devices/BT" permissions. Said permissions are not even an option on my device.

Same problem were with Galaxy Note 9.  Wants some non-existent permission.  Phone says "no permissions are denied for Avare"

Ditto here. Access Blocked by permission request which is already granted. On a ONN tablet. Just Happened since update this morning.

I uninstalled and tried reinstalling but I couldn’t find the old app to install?. How do I find it or should I wait until someone corrects this latest update to prevents opening?

Waiting for an update/fix is easiest for anyone who can comfortably
wait. Clearly the Dev Team is working feverishly on our behalf to push
that out asap. That said, anyone who needs the prior version can get
info on the old (NOT updated) Apps4Av website here:

It provides instructions on the process as of a year or two ago, and a
link to a list of available older Avare versions on this server:

Note that I have NOT tested this in quite some time, but offer it in
case someone has installed the new Avare version but temporarily needs
an older one. My guess is it will still work fine, and worst case you'd
be no worse off should it no longer work. If you do use those directions
to install, please post a followup.

The 10.1.4 update fixed the problem.

June 16, new phone same problem. Needs non-existent Permissions. I did a force stop of the app then an Open  and it works fine. Maybe this will help others.
